21c Museum Hotel Durham

Damien Jones was so kind and amazing to look at our accommodations and move us up from the 3rd floor to the 11th floor with the best views!! And Danny, the valet attendant, was exceptionally awesome with providing champagne flutes and an ice bucket to help us celebrated our 1st anniversary. Victoria, at the bar in Counting House, is a spirit savant and knew exactly the best mixes to make our night one of the best. All of the staff were so attentive and mindful to ensure we could have the best experience!

We checked in and arrived in our room to find the main light fixture out as well as a bathroom light. We have been sitting in the dark after a long day of travel. Two polite requests to make the repair have produced no results. Quite a disappointment.

From the time we arrived at the hotel the Valet gentleman were very nice and helpful. Once we arrived to check in Damien was wonderful with his excellent customer service to my husband and I. He and that welcome personalities view from our room was so beautiful. The hotel museum blew our mind. We would like the time to Thank Damien for his awesome hospitality and yes we are already planning on coming back in June 2026. Thank you 21 Museum

We had our wedding guests stay at 21C. Starting with the valet, on to the front desk, the bar, the manager, the staff here is kind, helpful, responsive, very professional. I can’t say enough great things about all the people we met and worked with at the hotel! All the people we worked with helped to make the wedding weekend easy and wonderful! The event group helped arrange a brunch which was delicious and had attentive servers. The hotel is a museum, so not a typical hotel layout. This adds interest and uniqueness. The rooms are a bit dark. The beds were comfortable, but the pillows were stiff. It seems to be ready for a refresh. Location is central in downtown Durham. We were able to walk to all that we were doing. Give this hotel a visit!

Staff welcoming & helpful. Valet parking was well worth it as streetside parking was difficult near the hotel. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom & shower spotless! Bonus was our corner room with a view of the Christmas festival & tree lighting going on. Enjoyed the art museum aspect as well. Some reviews reported only 1 elevator working, but this seemed to be a safety feature to keep non-customers from getting upstairs. Truly was not an issue despite a full hotel. Just a 5 minute walk from DPAC, Durham Bulls Stadium & many restaurant choices. Would highly recommend!
