When Breidenbacher Hof, a Capella hotel opened at the turn of the 19th Century, it was a bona fide royal hotel that counted Russian Czar Alexander II among its early guests. World War II demolished the original structure, but it was rebuilt – and rebuilt again in 2006 – with equal grandeur. Tastefully modern rooms outfitted in shades of gold match the hotel’s refined service. Briedenbacher Hof is earning a name for itself as a medical destination spa – guests can access a private clinic where cardiologist Dietrich Baumgart practices preventative medicine, and a network of German’s leading cosmetic and plastic surgeons offer services with utmost discretion.

Lovely hotel and great downtown location. We received outstanding customer service!! Would definitely recommend the spot. Spa and gym were nice and rooms were comfortable and well appointed. And I keep writing to fill up the minimum character requirements

I will be back, the hotel is beautiful, the service exceptional, location is perfect. From the welcome, to the drinks and snacks in the lobby, what a difference.

This was our first trip to Düsseldorf. The hotel did not disappoint. It is clean, organized, and the staff members are extremely helpful. The location cannot be beat! It’s close to shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. The living room with water, coffee, soft drinks and snacks is definitely a plus! Do not hesitate to stay here!

Haven't logged into our Trip Advisor account in years. But simply had to let others know about this jewel in Europe. So many exquisite features of this hotel to talk about, but we will focus on one for this review: The Living Room. We will always cherish the time spent visiting with family who reside near Duesseldorf in the common space that the hotel refers to as the 'Living Room'. For anyone needing a private, secure and extremely cozy and elegant space to entertain family, friends or associates, you will not regret going out of your way to stay at the Breidenbacher. The Living Room is on the first floor, but securely separated from the public hotel lobby by a privacy door that opens with your room key card. Once in the Living Room, there are self-serve amenities including tea, coffee, soda and bottled water as well as a rotating variety of fruits and snacks. Unlike having guests in your hotel room - which can be awkward and cramped - the Living Room makes the entire hotel stay like inviting guests into your elegant home for a visit. We have never experienced anything quite like the Breidenbacher hotel in our extensive travels. We have stayed at similar properties that cost three times the average nightly cost of the Breidenbacher, and yet this hotel surpasses those properties in many ways. Congratulations to the staff and leadership of the Breidenbacher for maintaining a world-class hotel in the heart of Duesseldorf. You are amazing ambassadors for your city.
