Virgin Hotels Edinburgh

Good, but not quite befitting of the Virgin brand. Rooms and staff excellent and exactly as you would expect. We were a family group of 5 and the hotel is extremely limited for social spaces to be able to sit and take a drink or chat, particularly on an evening and weekends. The hotel bar in particular is open to outside guests and whilst thats great for socialising and helps the hotel make money, it's very much to the detriment of guests staying at the hotel. It is extremely difficult to turn up and have a drink after a day or evening in the city. Take that into account if thats your thing when staying in the city. Our hotel of choice is The Kimpton and this was chosen as an alternative and because we have had such great experiences with the virgin brand in NYC and flying with them also. I won't choose it again.

We had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. The staff are pleasant and professional and the service great when we had difficulties with our TV in the room. From front door to reception we felt welcomed. The room is well equipped and eco friendly. Breakfasts were great with vegetarian options and the location in the old town excellent. Highly recommended 👍

I was in Edinburgh for two nights and I experienced a very comfortable stay where the staff were professional and this was underpinned the overall ambiance / quality of the hotel's social areas and its room facilities. I have stayed at various Virgin Hotels locations and it is the knowledge / confidence that the venue will satisfy expectation, which is comforting.

This hotel is in a fantastic location just off the Royal Mile. The hotel is beautiful. Staff are very helpful. The rooms were amazing with very comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms etc. There was only one downside to the hotel and that was the noise at night. We were in the second floor, just above street level. Apart from the noise on the street at night, across the road is a noisy hostel and next door is a nightclub open to 1am and 3 am at weekends. This was so disappointing. Please take earplugs and sleeping tablets.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Lots of lovely places to sit and chill. Great roof terrace with fantastic views. The rooms are well designed with comfy beds and lovely bedding. Make sure you explore the hotel- there is so much to see. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
