Fairmont Hotel Macdonald

Always a lovely hotel to stay in Edmonton. The ambience, amenities, service and rooms equal luxury and relaxation. The valet service is a better alternative to finding your own parking in downtown Edmonton. The staff always acknowledge you, which is a great experience for any visitor.

This is a delayed review, however we recently stayed at Fairmont Banff Springs-Gold and have to honestly say that experience really gave us a deep appreciation for the level of professionalism, kindness, and elevated standard that Keenan and Rejean create at Fairmont Mac- Gold. The boutique feel coupled with high end guest care make this location a cut above. We will always stay here as it always feels like home when we arrive. The little things are handled with perfection and it is very much appreciated. Thank you.

I stayed at the Macdonald for 3 nights in November as part of a work trip. The property is smaller than many of the Fairmonts in Canada, but has its own charms. The view of the river is lovely, minus 25C temperatures notwithstanding! The stand out for this stay for me was the service. I received lovely service from check in, to dining (in room and in the hotel's bar) and with requests I had for my room. I requested a yoga mat for my room, which was waiting for me when I arrived, and, to combat the extreme Alberta dryness, guest services put a humidifier in my room. This was a game changer for me as a coastal person unaccustomed to the very dry cold. Don't be shy about asking guest services if these are available! The signature cocktails in the bar are on the pricier end for a cocktail (24ish bucks), but they are crafted with such delicious expertise that I ordered more than one! If you are doing business at the nearby convention centre, this property is a good choice for your Edmonton travels.

Amazing experience amazing view loved that atmosphere very relaxing for the evening Enjoyed the stay staff gave us a complimentary unexpected upgrade to. large spaces room was great. I had lots of seating area to relax and enjoy our time. Very nice decor.
