Perched atop a stunning coastal bluff extending along one of the most dramatic stretches of coastline in Southern California, our property offers magnificent and one-of-a-kind panoramic views of the shimmering Pacific Ocean and adjoining Batiquitos Lagoon. This proximity not only inspires our décor, it influences every aspect of our guest experience, from colorful activities to enchanting programming. And having the ocean just steps away from our door and open beach access provides us with a unique opportunity to be stewards of one of California’s greatest natural attractions: the Pacific Ocean. Senses spoiled, wellness discovered, occasions celebrated. Experience it all at Alila Marea Beach Resort. Indulge at the ocean-front pool deck, take in the culinary journey at VAGA restaurant, or find your zen at Spa Alila. You can also invigorate your wellness in our fully-equipped gym, ride the Electra Go! bikes, or take a walk along the sandy beach.

Stayed here for a few nights while visiting for business. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. $55/ day “resort fee” a bit steep on top of the high fare, given the resort features only a few amenities. Rooms were clean, offered nice amenities, and onsite restaurant offers great cuisine. Large gym as well for a hotel. Resort overlooks the ocean, but there is not much immediately in the area (besides beach). You have to take a Uber to visit offsite restaurants, coffee, etc. The resort does offer a “free” car service to drive you to areas a few miles down the street. Overall, a great stay, just wish there was a bit more to offer with the price you pay.

While the Alila Marea is a fabulous location and designed beautifully, they have yet to attain resort status in the quality of food as well as the quality and timeliness of room service. Additionally, for an adults-only resort was surprised how early the on-site facilities closed given the resort itself is quite isolated for fine dining, drinks, etc. If they want to continue to cater to an adults-only crowd it would behoove them to have later hours at both the pool bar and fire pits, as well as at the actual restaurant and bar itself. While I was there for business and wasn't paying out of pocket, these things didn't bother me as much, however if I was there for a personal pleasure trip these flaws would have been much more frustrating.

Amazing stay at this beautiful hotel. The service was top-notch - everyone was friendly, welcoming, and helpful, from the front desk to the valet attendants to the waiters at VAGA. The hotel restaurant had a great breakfast. The bed was super comfortable and the views from the balcony (we had a coastline view room) were beautiful.

Worst hotel we’ve ever stayed at…. Although the place is very nice and has potential… the hotel is so unorganized… 1st they are a hour late for check in..2… they bring us other peoples luggage into our room and mix up ours…. 3 for being a nice hotel room service food looked like it was microwaved as a kids meal…4 they have charged us extra charges with false claims of reasons why extra charges…. And have rejected the claims… would definitely recommend just about any other hotel than this one it looks nice to walk thru and that’s where it ends as far as being a quality hotel to stay at

Beautiful and romantic hotel, staff is excellent and just a very relaxing place to spend a long weekend with a love one and just unwind. The Vaga Restaurant is a classy place to celebrate a special occasion, sat in the patio area, chilly night but the staff provides blankets.
