The Essex, Culinary Resort & Spa

The linens are really good quality, the restaurant quality and service was good. The location was great for me. However, overall, I was so disappointed in my stay. I reported issues but they were never resolved. The TV remote didn't work, the toilet ran all night, one of my windows would not close completely so the wind whistled through my room like a train every time the wind blew. The mattress seemed like a blow-up mattress and was horrid for my back after 3 nights. The snow was piled up so you couldn't get from the car parking to your rooms without climbing over snowbanks with your luggage. Even a pass through every few cars would have been helpful but no one seems to think about the customer at this place. Maybe it used to be well maintained but that is not the case now.

Leticia was a very helpful, attentive and personable server. She knew the menu and helped us choose the perfect meal. The food was fantastic. Thank you! We had the wagu beef burger and the black bean quinoa burger! Delicious! The craft beverages were a hit!

I can't say enough about Chef Dee and our Culinary Cooking Class experience. We've come back for several years, and Dee greeted us like old friends. She is super organized - you can tell she'd spent hours organizing and prepping for our class. She picks great meals and demonstrates them clearly and easily for us. We end out with meals that are delicious and an experience we can be proud of! Our compliments to Chef Dee!!!!

January, 2025. Lila, Ben, Ally, TJ, Stacie, Carrie, all made you feel so welcome and comfortable. Stacie gave me a fantastic massage. Clean, attractive surroundings. Good food and drinks. Lovely spa that was not pretentious like some other spas I have been to. I am planning to return in February with my daughter. Great place and fantastic staff!

Overall a nice quaint place to get away. Nice amenities and restaurants all in one location. Rooms are cozy the beds are not the most comfortable but sufficient. Would be nice if the fireplace actually put off heat for those cold winter days.
