Under new management - so clean and upscale.
Wonderful get away - perfect pool, spa was paradise, great room. Food was perfect. We’ve been coming for years and found the place to have aged and was a little dinghy in 2020-2023 however this time absolutely perfect - I actually asked and it’s under new management. I can not recommend enough!!!

Beautiful New England property
The spa and hotel grounds are beautiful. Welcome to time in New England. Breakfast was superb. Great pool & hot tub. Bed sheets & bed pillows could be softer & improved quality. Staff are exceptional

Visiting our UVM student
We drove out to Vermont to visit with our daughter who is a student at UVM. We have stayed at The Essex before and we will keep coming back because the grounds are BEAUTIFUL, the staff are all very helpful and friendly and the rooms are very nice. We love the drink and bakery selections at the front desk. I recommend getting a glass of wine and taking it to the fire pit in the evening and relaxing under the stars

Quiet and filled with character
Lovely grounds and very friendly staff. Thr decor was consistent throughout with the culinary theme. Location is also quiet.
