The Essex, Culinary Resort & Spa

The spa and hotel grounds are beautiful. Welcome to time in New England. Breakfast was superb. Great pool & hot tub. Bed sheets & bed pillows could be softer & improved quality. Staff are exceptional

We drove out to Vermont to visit with our daughter who is a student at UVM. We have stayed at The Essex before and we will keep coming back because the grounds are BEAUTIFUL, the staff are all very helpful and friendly and the rooms are very nice. We love the drink and bakery selections at the front desk. I recommend getting a glass of wine and taking it to the fire pit in the evening and relaxing under the stars

Lovely grounds and very friendly staff. Thr decor was consistent throughout with the culinary theme. Location is also quiet.

We were on-site Thursday thru Saturday for my birthday weekend, and it had a great time. My cousin and I came without knowing what to expect, and we were not disappointed. The seasonal pricing made it harder for us to enjoy more/all of the amenities so this would be our only rating negative. However, everyone including staff and guests were gracious, friendly and fun to be around. We left with new friends and the intention to return during your 'off season' to enjoy more spa services and cooking classes. The Essex and Vermont owe us nothing!

The location is great and easy to get everywhere. Once you turn up the driveway the gardens and estate overwhelm you with relaxing feelings. They have everything. The outdoor pool was more relaxing in the fall than summer. The gym has everything you need. The goats are fun. The fire pits get you out of the room in the evening and the ambiance is so VT and New England. I enjoyed my stay immensely.
