Located in one of Europe's most elegant tourist destinations, InterContinental Cascais-Estoril stands proudly in the affluent town of Estoril. Located on the site of the former "Atlântico Hotel", a property which became a symbol of Estoril and an important tourism legacy in Cascais, the InterContinental Cascais-Estoril respects the history and remains true to the essence of this charming place. The hotel overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, boasting magnificent sea views and is within easy access to Lisbon. Nearby the town of Cascais, the popular Guincho beach, numerous golf courses and UNESCO World Heritage Sintra.

If you're planning on exploring Estoril & Cascais this hotel is geographically perfect. Our hotel garden room was spacious, immaculately clean and very quiet with super views. Have you ever woken up at 3am with jet lag in a dark room and wondered where you are ? This is occasionally followed by stumbling around in the dark and whacking a toe on furniture you didn't know you had ? To round off this you then fumble for a light switch en route to bathroom which invariably illuminates the whole room = grumpy Mrs DD. Well this hotels attention to detail has cracked this dilemma. At night there's a dim bathroom light and you can select colours which is both thoughtful & helpful (other hotels please take note). Its like a runway light guiding you in the dark. The main restaurant has superb views out over the ocean and they have blinds to help if the sun or wind is strong. Service at breakfast from Pedro & Fazleh was efficient and very friendly. Food was great. Could have stayed here all day as breakfast only finishes at 11.00. We had dinner here also over a number of nights and it was always friendly with Miguel, Paula & team, an all-round relaxed atmosphere. The bar is quiet small. Pool area with Ana is clean and well run but watch where you elect to park yourself as sun rises on one side and sweeps across during the day. TIP theres a few steps down from the pool out to the promenade via a tunnel. When you check in get them to ensure your room key opens this as it'll save you time when heading back to the pool. We both agreed this was a tremendous blend of location, efficiency, quality & friendliness. The only let down was the IT dept. The printer in the lobby didn't work and reception printed our boarding passes but other private stuff had to wait till home. Also our room tv showed the wrong room so we couldn't see our bill. They do have a great security system which means you walk through a few computer controlled doors to get to your room so the hotel has a safe feeling. All in all a great stay delivered by caring people who take pride in their work, highly recommended. Tip: If walking into Cascais turn your phone to airplane mode. The railings that guard the rocks stop at certain points (Gloria's cafe ?) and we watched a guy almost walk off the promenade as he received a text or whats app. It's easy to get distracted and if he had fallen you're talking end of holiday or worse so switch to airplane and watch the waves rolling in to the beautiful shoreline.

We booked via Amex Platinum . Unfortunately we did not receive upgrade as hotel was busy but we did receive early and late checkin/out. Hotel is excellent . Staff ; Bruno in checkin / out very efficient . Carlos for restaurant suggestions was very knowledgeable and helpful . Anna at pool bar / restaurant extremely professional and friendly. Pedro, Fazleh and Phillis at breakfast were outstanding . Miguel, Ines and Reata at dinner were also outstanding . Food ; Breakfast was so good , sparkling wine and fresh omelettes , amazing . Lunch at pool bar very good . Dinner in hotel was so good we chose to eat there most of the time . Room ; Spotless , large with fab lightning in bathroom for night time . Would most definitely recommend this hotel although my husband had some challenges with the technolgy and he is trained in this area.

This without doubt is one of the best hotels if not the best that I have stayed in in over 50 odd years of worldwide travel. The hotel is well apponted ,the staff are extremely friendly and most prodfessional. Hotel position is great ,easy access to beach and promenade into Estoril and Cascais. The station is right outside the hotel with no noise experinced from trains,

We loved this hotel. Location was great, Part way between Cascais and Estoril. Not much to do at Estoril, but the beach at Tamuz was less .weedy and rocky than most of the others and only 8 minutes walk along the promenade ( Cascais was 15-20 mins). Located next to the Monte-Estoril railway station, but the trains weren’t intrusive..must be good glazing. Rooms were large, modern and we were on the hotel’s top level 3, so had a balcony with fantastic views, The upper floors are all residential. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We ate at the restaurant one night and had the tasting menu with matching wines, which was absolutely fantastic and we felt great value. breakfast was pleasant on the balcony, but could get quite warm..and i forgot my sunglasses, so had to squint. The gym was also ok, but i think shared with the residences, so got a little busy at 8am. pool was good, but a little cold. loved the pillow menu. Would definitely stay here again.
