Strategically located just 25 minutes from Fès Airport, the Riad Fès exudes an air of refined serenity amid the bustle of the city. A perfect example of Hispanic-Moorish architecture, the stylish hotel is arranged around four distinct patios. Ornate courtyards ranging from sober baroque to dazzling mosaic patterns and an impressive Fassi lamp flanked by artfully carved stucco arches fuse Andalusian whimsy with age-old Moroccan design. Begin your day on the rooftop terrace with a panoramic view of the Medina with its minarets against blue skies and the gentle green curves of the Atlas Mountains beyond. All 30 rooms are individually decked out in sumptuous textiles and warm-hued wooden furnishings. Filigreed bedside lamps next to traditionally carved or tufted precious cloth headboards reflect meticulous attention to detail, enhanced by must-have modern amenities such as air conditioning, flat-screen satellite televisions, and elegant Tadelakt or Italian Carrara marble bathrooms with plush bathrobes and slippers. The Riad Fés beckons you to relax in lavish oriental style at its Spa by Cinq Mondes. Unwind by the outdoor pool, in the cleansing steam of the Hammam or take that much-needed time-out and book a pampering massage.

I stayed at this hotel for my honeymoon, not only did they charge my travel company and myself for our stay, they are submitting false documentation of receipts without my signature/authorization. On top of this issue the hotel itself is unsanitary and not worth the price. There were roaches by the pool and in our room. The restaurant is also nothing special. Someone from the hotel entered our room without knocking while we were sleeping, there was no lock on our door and we were terrified we were being robbed. I have emailed the hotel several times to express my concerns and issues and not once have they responded to any of my emails. The only email they sent was telling me they were charging my credit card. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone- and it was the worst hotel that I stayed at throughout my whole trip in Morocco- what a let down and disappointment. Customer service 0/5 starts. They will respond to this review I am sure- but will continue to not respond to my email.

Riad Fes was a dream. To enter the hotel is to be transported to another world. The decor is simply stunning. Our room on the top floor with a private terrace overlooking the Medina was well appointed and gorgeous. But most of all service (especially by staff in the restaurant) was outstanding. We had the best vegan dinners and breakfasts of any hotel we stayed at over our 10-day trip to Morocco. Everything was delicately spiced, colorful and very tasty. Moroccan hospitality at its best.

Highest marks!!!!-- SO ACCOMMODATING WHEN I REALLY NEEDED HELP. Story: I came down w/ food poisoning from a restaurant the night before--threatening to make our checkout and 6 hour wait time for taxi to airport--just a living #$%@. . Riad Fes made an arrangement for us to keep our room so I could sleep and rest. They ingeniously and generously gave the incoming guest a free upgrade to the Ambassador Suite.. One of the marks af a great hotel is what happens when you need help. In this case, Riad Fes went above and beyond, for which I am so grateful and will recommend them to all. This is all in addition to the magnificent architecture, cozy and extremely stylish restaurant for breakfast (and dinner), great room service, etc etc. See photos.

We just left the Raid Fes after spending 3 nights there including New Years Eve. The Raid itself is stunning. The rooms have the potential to be amazing but need some maintenance. The first room we had was an Ambassador Suite and it was great until 2:00am when the “neighbors” rooster started up and that lasted off and on all day. We were able to change our room but they put us in another room that had only 4 lamps so not light and the air/heat buzzed so loudly we had to move again. This time the room was smaller, so not sure we got what we paid for and unfortunately the air/heat still buzzed. By then we were so burnt out on switching we gave up. They are however giving us a refund on one nights stay. They had a New Years Eve celebration at the hotel and it was fun. The food was pretty decent at their restaurant. Was the best vegetable couscous I had in Morocco. I would recommend the hotel but ask for a room that doesn’t have the rooster or air/heat issues since quite a few rooms do.
