The NH Collection Firenze Porta Rossa, part of the Lifestyle collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, is thought to be the oldest hotel in Italy, complete with a 13th-century tower and ancient frescoes. It has an outstanding location in the center of Florence, just a few minutes’ walk from the famous Duomo and Uffizi Gallery. The hotel’s 72 rooms are the epitome of sophistication, fusing old-world charm with modern furnishings in ivory cream and brilliant red.

Lovely hotel with super, helpful staff. Lots of history but not a five star in my opinion. If you visit, ask to see the Monalda Tower, which has fantastic views of the city. Breakfast costs 30 euros and there is an egg menu but this is chargeable ie 5 euros for a fried egg! Such a shame!

The hotel was beautiful and had exceptional service for our weekend stay. Staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Hotel rooms were clean and the perfect size for us. The breakfast was one of the best! Had everything you could think of. A great way to start the day of seeing the sites in Florence. Perfect location to get to the sites we wanted to see.

Beautiful hotel. The front desk staff is excellent, and our room was very comfortable. We did have some trouble with the loud street noise during a few nights of our stay. We stayed on the second floor on the Porta Rossa street side, and any noise echoed loudly off the surrounding buildings. Our first night, we were woken up by a loud group of people at 3 am and they were yelling and talking until at least 5 am. The next few nights were much quieter, but our last night was similarly loud. The hotel staff was very accommodating and tried to help us find a quieter room in our same family room type, but the only available option was not ideal for our family. We understand that the hotel is centrally located and tourist noise is to be expected, but just be aware if you are a light sleeper. Ask for a higher room if available, or book a room type that is not on the Porta Rossa side. That said, we would book again thanks to the staff.

I've been here for work and this hotel has been the best to me for service attention for guest request and so on.. Once you enter to this hotel is seems a open meuseum for all the history is there in every corner! I've really appreciate the free upgrade on the junior suite with the afrescos on it, a welcome amenities really unique one and also the restaurant choises. (Special mention to the guest relations manager Nadine that was so kind and help before and during the stay). I will definetely come back for work and even with the family!

This is a very beautiful, centrally located hotel. The building itself is old and lovely, in the middle of many old and lovely buildings. The location is terrific, just a short walk to many things. Our room was big, bright and comfortable. What really set the hotel apart was how exceptionally friendly and helpful all of the staff were. Standout!
