Continentale Hotel

Impecable service - all hotel employees are wonderful and always ready to help. Food is great - hotel restaurants are very good. Location is perfect - close to all attractions. But a little difficult to find by waze - waze sent us to another location, then we used Google Maps to get there.

I relocated to Florence from NYC and stayed at this beautiful hotel at the north entrance of the Ponte Vecchio, Hotel Continentale. The photos/videos provide the facts. But what you need to know is that this special boutique hotel brings new meaning to the word HOSPITALITY, not SERVICE….. HOSPITALITY. I was alone & sick & they literally nursed me back to health! From securing a high quality doctor, to getting my prescription filled (I was bed-ridden) to making sure I ate to simple check ins by WhatsApp throughout the day and evening, I have never experienced nor heard of anything like this AND I’ve traveled extensively for work and fun. As I got better and met the General Manager, Matteo Gentile, I explained how amazed I was at how his staff helped me; the palpable team synergy that’s so solid it feels more like one big happy family rather than a hotel; and how impressed I was by this GENUINE warm kind energy of every staff member. From IT & housekeeping to reception & spa & restaurant, it feels more like a home than a place of business. Mr. Gentile smiled and said, “Ms. Kirk - we appreciate your kind words and happy to learn you’re feeling better. Please let us know if there’s anything else to make things easier. I understand you’re here alone relocating for work.” I couldn’t help but hug the Captain of this special ship. He humbly blushed and said, “Our home is your home.” And that is EXACTLY how I felt throughout my stay at Hotel Continentale.

The room is quite small but also lovely, with a sheer white canopy above the bed, and neutral wood and leather furniture. There is ample closet & drawer space. The shower is very good. And the place was spotless. The bathroom had one defect: there was no dry place to put your towel near the shower so it would be readily available when you got out. Staff was very courteous and prompt. The rooftop bar was unfortunately officially closed for the season. The room service menu was extremely limited. The buffet breakfast is also extremely limited. But everything was very good. The WiFi was quite inconsistent. Sometimes perfect, other times really hinky. The location is wonderful, beside the Ponte Vecchio and central to everything. You can walk anywhere. Shops, cafes, restaurants, pharmacies are all very nearby. We had some issues w housekeeping. They were very solicitous about it afterwards. They clearly value being a good hotel.

I have found Hotel Continentale to be the perfect hotel for a holiday in Florence. Amazing location (right across Ponte Vecchio and 5/10 min away from everything), very good quality-price, always super clean, classy and peacefull rooms. Above all that, what makes this hotel really stand out, is the kindness and availability of its staff, always with a smile and ready to help you with anything. Thank you Alison, Cristina, Leonardo, Luca, Luka, Roberto and Stefano, ypu are the greatest team!

Your staff is wonderful, thank you Alison for your attention you are a wonderful person, the Hotel its Perfect, very clean, pretty and the location its on point, the breakfast its very very good and lota of varietys you will lovet...........
