Reviews for L'Orologio Firenze

Nice boutique hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

This is a lovely little boutique hotel, well located within easy walking of most of Florence’s attractions. Our room was spacious, although quite dark, with no outlook except the building opposite. The bed was very comfortable. The room was serviced only once daily, not twice a day as indicated on the website. Breakfast was a good selection of mainly continental-style food, with limited hot options. The staff at breakfast were very disinterested on all the mornings we were there, which lets down the hotel’s reputation. Reception staff, on the other hand, were excellent.

Palatial room, great location. Housekeeping staff was wonderful! But the mattress…

Palatial room with 20 ft. Ceilings and a bed so hard you could eat dinner on it. One of the largest and grandest hotel rooms we’ve stayed in. That said the enormous bathroom featured a tub that so deep it was a struggle for me (5’3”) to get in and out of safely. The windows were swathed in red & gold balloon style drapes but the only way I could look out the window was to step up on a deep ledge (which I did not do because there was nothing to hang onto). Italy is famous for many things and rock hard mattresses is one I didn’t know about. Same for the pillows. Woke up with a stuff neck every night. Cleaning staff was great! Breakfast room was elegant but poorly lit. Eggs were so salty they were inedible. Don’t stay here for the food, it’s limited at best.

Comfortable and refined hotel

Hotel “L’Orologio" is located near Florence's main railway station, on the corner of the splendid square dominated by the majestic façade of one of the most important Florentine churches, Santa Maria Novella. From the top floor of the hotel, where there is a very elegant breakfast room, there is an incomparable view of the square. The hotel is situated in an ancient architectural complex, skilfully restored with decorations that reflect the local history and tradition. The common rooms are particularly beautiful, with a number of precious clocks on display. In fact, the clock theme is omnipresent in the decoration of the common areas and rooms. The room I stayed in was spacious and very well furnished. The bed and chair are made of fine leather. The large bathroom is very well equipped with high quality cosmetic products. Everything is very well maintained. One detail I particularly appreciated was that there was always pleasant music playing in the room. An excellent breakfast is served in the aforementioned room on the top floor, while there is a lovely bar on the ground floor. The staff are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel, especially for its location, nice public areas and comfortable rooms.

Great hotel - perfect location - would stay again

Very nice hotel. It is within walking distance of all the main attractions and many shops and restaurants. We had a triple room and it and the bathroom area are large by European standards. The breakfast was delicious and the front desk staff were always kind and very helpful. If we go to Firenze again, I would definitely stay at the L’Orologio.

A great Hotel in the centre of town

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 months ago

We had a fantastic short stay in this Hotel. To make the negative list short: We didn't like too much the caffee at breakfast and juices. A westerner problem, guilty. There is a lot we did love about it. First of all as already explained, the location, friendly fantastic staff. Our dog was for free. The car was taken care off and fir an extra fee went to a garage. Our room 313 had a high ceiling which helpped with the hot weather. The bathroom was a dream and the room and beds comfy. We would choose this Hotel again and are sad, we couldn't stay longer. Worth every penny and absolutely fantastic experience.
