I’m a consultant and travel a lot for work. I’ve lived in hotels around the world - the longest is 2 years. For the past month, I was at the Ferragamo properties and was so impressed by the meticulous service, the phenomenal food, the elegant warm decor and the location. Somehow they know what you need before you do! But what happened next blew me away: Sadly, I was required to transfer hotels for logistical reasons. My second morning at my new hotel and an intense coughing fit woke me up at 6am. It went from bad to worse to the biggest disaster I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. My new hotel was completely incompetent. They couldn’t organize a competent doctor to see me; they couldn’t walk ACROSS THE STREET to get my prescription filled; the food was awful (HOW can a hotel in FLORENCE have bad food?!?! I’m still confused); and room service was from 7:30pm - 10:30pm. Imagine: you’re alone in a foreign country and severely sick……. your hotel is incompetent and you’re at risk of needing to go to the hospital unnecessarily!!! ENTER: David & his team from Portrait!!! They contact me to follow up about something and they asked if I was OK ( I barely had a voice), I start crying explaining my circumstances and David explains he’s taking care of everything and THEY DID!!! From doctors to helping me convince the incompetent hotel to get my meds to helping navigate food deliveries. They took care of all of it. Ready? Several days later I get a check in call. I confirm that, indeed, I survived the hell and will checking out. I thanked him for the millionth time and said how amazed I was at the help I received while not being a guest. David warmly informs me, “Ms. Kirk - once you’re our guest, you’re part of our family. We are happy to learn of your recovery and glad we were able to help. Please don’t ever hesitate to contact us for anything in the future. Happy Holidays!” Like me, you probably don’t believe what you’re reading. I wouldn’t. Contact me and I’m happy to provide documented proof. If there could be an 8-Star hotel, this is it!

Stunningly beautiful hotel! Perfect location for walking anywhere you would want to go in Florence. The staff was amazing in every way and the concierge hadwonderful dinner recommendations for us and secured all of our reservations and private cars. Absolutely a 10 on every level!

Very nice experience, i will come back again, i had a great time, and all the staff was amazing and supportive, the hotel have a beautiful location at the river with a great view, very clean, and good restaurant, nice rooms and lovely reception.

We stayed at Portrait Firenze for my mother’s birthday, and it was perfect. She was thrilled with the personalized gift waiting in the room and loved the breathtaking view of Ponte Vecchio. The best part was how at home and cared for we felt. The staff’s warmth and attention made the experience unforgettable. A truly special place!

The city feels even more magical now with the beautiful Christmas lights illuminating the streets and reflecting on the Arno. The service was outstanding.
