Unique location IN the park and with view on and easy access to the falls. A unique feature is the fact that you can visit the falls before and after the opening hours of the park, ie without tourists! This is worth a lot! Expensive, yes, but this is a classy, charming and super friendly hotel, 5/5 is not enough to express how much we loved it. Most highly recommended to my fellow travelers.

The vista of the falls upon arrival steals the ability for any expressions other than WOW!! The long, slow drive to the resort was made acceptable with the comments and historical and environmental explanations from our private guide combined with views of natural fauna, the toucans and other local birds. The greeting and sign in by a singular host was a gracious introduction to the resort and left us with the feeling we were in the right place. The upgraded room was more than spacious with a fantastic outside view. All staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable and more than willing and able to accommodate all requests.

This is definitely the right choice if you’re visiting the falls. The proximity to the falls and ability to explore while the park is closed to visitors is reason enough to stay here, but the hotel and the service was outstanding. I wasn’t sure how many nights to stay, we ended up staying four, but knowing what I know now, I would have shortened my time in Rio to spend more time at the falls. One downside before I get to the rest of the good stuff… the buffet and made to order food at the restaurant was very good, but the service was extremely poor (particularly at breakfast) and in stark contrast to the service level elsewhere at the hotel. We ate there 7 times during our stay so it wasn’t a one-off experience. It was disappointing, but wouldn’t prevent me from returning to the hotel. The bar on the other hand, was great! The food was good there and if you’re looking to try a new drink, I suggest the Guacho. We received exceptional service from Philipe and Emerson and always looked forward to seeing them. Elsewhere in the hotel service was at, or exceeded, my expectations. Cesar at the front desk went out of his way to make our stay seamless and very special. We used the concierge to book our excursions, which was very convenient. I communicated with them via email before our stay and found them responsive and very helpful. Before you go, get the app, it has lots of good info. Overall it was a wonderful stay and I enthusiastically recommend the hotel for your stay at the falls.

We had an exceptional time at Cataratas Belmond. Excellent service - we will defintely recommend it and hope to be able to come again one day. The fact that you can see the waterfall outside the opeining hours of the park is sensational. We walked each day twice along the falls and loved every minute.

The location inside the National Park is incomparable to anyplace we have ever stayed before. The first morning we were there we awoke early and had the park all to ourselves. To be all alone with the magnificent views is an amazing experience.

We stayed at Hotel Cataratas at the end of our 17 days in Brazil. A perfect ending. Our room was charming and comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel neglected to make arrangements for our transport from the airport (which was included in our LL package), but they made up for the error many times over during our stay, including a complementary guide when we visited the Iguassu Falls on the Argentina side. The location of the hotel also provides access to the viewing trails for the falls during hours when the park is closed to other tourist. A real bonus that is not available to those staying in the hotel in the Argentinian park. Next time I stay at Hotel Cataratas I'll coordinate my trip with a full moon!
