Reviews for Savoy Palace

Should have the been the best ….

Where to start … This is not how I wanted this review to go Arrived to a warm welcome and checked in easily and luggage was arranged promptly to our room. The room a two-bed suite was stunning, with 3 bathrooms, kitchen area and as a family really pleased. A welcome drink is offered by card voucher to use in the lobby bar. I can’t fault the rooms, and the turndown service was excellent every evening. Gym open 24hrs and easy access with plenty of choice Spa – We wasn’t aware of the additional charges of 40 euro per person / per day so surprised that this was not explained at any point of booking directly with the hotel. We did use the spa and very relaxing so great for an hour to two to relax. Our first complaint, however it was agreed me and daughter would be able to use the spa free of charge ( although our understanding was it was already included. Sunbeds – Plenty of choice but be aware as also additional charges of approx. 110 euros per day. The hotel is set in a lovely location and easy to get around from the Royal Savoy & Savoy Palace. Some amazing bars and areas Outdoor Pool – Unheated so very cold so didn’t get to use Indoor Pool – Lovely warm pool and nice area Evening Restaurants on the terrace – Another night of issues. My husband ordered wine to taste, ordered the bottle to be advised sold out, Ordered Fish special of the evening, sorry none left ! Ordered main dish with side, my daughter has allergies which was served with the allergy so had to be taken away and side dishes forgotten. The list goes on … we were given free deserts which mean very little as all we wanted was the correct ordered. Allergies – not taken seriously at all so don’t take the risk as my daughter was served on more than one occasion something she shouldn’t have that we made them aware on arrival at the restaurant. On check in we asked about Easter Sunday brunch as this day is very important for us as a family and celebrate, so the reception lady explained the package and asked us what time we would like to book the Easter Brunch, she made a phone call and confirmed verbally our reservation for 1.00pm. Easter Sunday – Arrived for the Brunch with my family of five only to be advised sorry there must be a mistake we don’t have your reservation. Another colleague was called over and said sorry have you paid? , do you have email confirmation ? how old are your children …… …. And was rude and confrontational. After standing around having other guests looking over felt very upset so had to leave the restaurant. My husband came to see the issue and was always given no apology from the staff so requested to see the general manager. A table was finally put together, but the damage was already done, I was upset and no longer wanted to be at this hotel as felt treated poorly. Never ever in my life have I been made to feel this way on holiday with my family . The hotel manager did escort us back to the table and offered the children to eat for free ! it was never about the cost or the mix up but how I was treated as a guest at the Savoy. I have travelled the world in the some of the world’s leading hotels and I can say this was the worst stay overall for the way I was made to feel. This trip was part of our 20th wedding anniversary celebration that was made a special request on booking but this was never acknowledged during our stay . This is a shame I can’t get that time on holiday back with my family its never about the money.

Time share touts

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Savoy Hotel is full of nasty time share touts, very aggressive shady looking thugs. You can’t walk past without being accosted by these’s horrible beings, not saying it’s the Savoy who’s to blame, but something has to be done to flush this scum away.

Had a lovely, relaxing time. Great breakfast. Enjoyed happy hour in Lounge Bar with fantastic service and staff. The rooms were dealt with every day and turn down service lovely. Swimming pools nice and enjoyed the pathway to Savoy Royal. We ate at the resort a few times and enjoyed each meal. Gym good.

Royal luxury

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Savoy Palace is the epitome of a luxury hotel. From the doorman in grey jacket, smiling receptionists, friendly waiters to diligent cleaning staff. We have never met so many smiles and friendly comments in a week. No doubt that the hotel management has all the details under control. Lovely room (superior with sea view), perfect cleaning, room service several times a day. In the evening bed spreads are removed, curtains drawn, water placed on the bedside table and slippers placed by the bed. Almost royal. Good location and very peaceful. No traffic noise or other noise from the street, even though there are several restaurants in the hotel and right opposite/next to it. On the street behind the hotel there are another dozen restaurants and bars. About 10 local city buses stop right outside the hotel. Tickets can be bought on the bus, so no hassle with ticket offices, etc. Very nice and well-maintained pool area and nice gym. Nice small indoor pool big enough to actually swim in.

This was my 3rd stay at this wonderful hotel, The staff are all well trained to look after there guests, nothing is a problem and go above and beyond what is expected, a big shoutout to Helder and Sirjan in the Vimes bar, who looked after us every night and made us feel so welcome, The hotel is spotless clean and has a very relaxing vibe, cant wait to come back next year, keep up the fantastic work Savoy Palace
