Really luxurious hotel with lots of facilities except the spa which is extra. The rooms are very well appointed with plenty of space but with limited wardrobe space but that is being picky. Everything clean and immaculate along with the service which was second to none. All the staff were helpful and friendly. Lots of choices for dining and bars plus fantastic pools. Just be aware that they operate a vacation club which is loosely based around timeshare. You will likely be asked to attend a tour of about an hour and a half extolling its benefits with voucher and wine enticements. They would like you to sign up there and then with some extra discount to spur you on. I asked for full terms and conditions as it could be a massive financial commitment and this is not available on line which is very naive on their part as only a fool would sign up on the spur of the moment. My advice would be don’t rush! Apart from that a lovely stay.

Well, we are back for the 3rd time!!! What’s not to like. The staff are courteous , attentive , the service is exceptional and the rooms are gorgeous. We’ve received a room upgrade to a superior ocean view room ( meaning higher floors) . Our bathroom also had a set of doors dividing the living area with the bathroom - which was lovely. We said before, this is a huge hotel and it was very noticeable that it is huge on the higher floors. We’ve previously stayed on the lower floors and it felt far more intimate ( still with ocean views) so I think when we return we will stay on the lower floors but this is very much a personal preference. We very much disliked the addition of the Bali beds around the pool. We loathe to pay extra for sun beds and out of principal we will not pay for one of those beds. We certainly were not the only ones thinking that as only 2 couples used them during our week long stay!! We have also noticed a significant deterioration with the mosaic tiles around the pool. It’s very unsightly and really not representative of this gorgeous hotel. A big shout out to the hotel for providing us with cake and bubbles for our anniversary. Many thanks, it’s been much appreciated.

What a superb Hotel! Amazing style, very spacious and great location. The staff were incredible, nothing was too much effort and the Hotel facilities offered lots of leisure activity options. We booked a Bed and Breakfast option, as we wanted to experience local restaurants and culture. The breakfast experience was tremendous, so much choice of fresh, well presented food and very pleasant, helpful staff made early morning starts so much nicer! We had a sea view room which was very spacious and offered a fabulous view from a large balcony. We did eat at one of the Hotel restaurants and the only slightly negative observation (and it’s very small!) is that the hot food there and at breakfast was only ‘warmish’, which I don’t like but may well be OK for others. Other than that, this was genuinely a 5* experience!

Great stay, our second time at the hotel. However, in the interests of fairness, here are our 5 good and 5 not so good things about the Savoy Palace. However, we love it there and will certainly return.... GOOD 1. Excellent and friendly service from all the staff - we encountered no problems at all in this regard! 2. Great location and great views - which were both important to us. Not too near and not too far from the old town. Just right for walking, whereas hotels further west past Reid's might be a bit far to walk for some. Views were important to us and the ones from the upper floors of the Savoy Palace, with spacious balconies, could not be bettered. 3. Rooms were luxurious, facilities excellent, bed very comfortable, and bathroom perfect. Excellent pool and general cleanliness. 4. Lots to do in and around the hotel and having access to the sea via the gardens and the Royal Savoy was good. And of course, if you like spas, the Savoy Palace one is second to none, albeit expensive 5. Very 'instagrammable' if you are into that sort of thing, especially the rooftop bar, sunset views and such like. NOT SO GOOD 1. As others have mentioned, there is not a huge amount of storage space in the rooms - although it was fine for us. That is an initial design failure. 2. Breakfast can get a bit crowded at peak times, but the array of foods was splendid. 3. The lobby lounge area can be very empty - at least until happy hour - and the furniture in that area, which I believe came from the old Savoy hotel, is a bit dull and not totally compatible with the modern, glitzy decor. 4. Obviously, the Savoy Palace is a very large modern hotel so those who might want a smaller, quieter, more secluded type of 'quinta/colonial' hotel with lawns and solitude, may be disappointed. 5. It appeared that both pillows were foam and not feather ones, but I may be wrong there. No bath, only shower, at least in the room we were in. So there you are, great hotel, great staff - may not be everyone's cup of tea or glass of Madeira wine - but 5* in every way in our books. Feb 2025

We stayed here for 3 nights in February on a Bed and Breakfast basis. We stayed in an avenue room, which I believe is the more basic option, however, the room was stunning. Very large with a huge bed, walk in wardrobe, lovely large shower and separate toilet. We had a lovely balcony overlooking the bustling avenue at the front of the hotel which we enjoyed sitting out on in the evenings and seeing what’s going on…I can only imagine what the other rooms/suites are like! The staff are extremely attentive and helpful. Bruno on concierge booked us a hiking trip one day, and was there at 8am the next morning to ensure we got off on our trip ok. Housekeeping staff worked very hard and were always very friendly. We only ate breakfast at the hotel which was very good. We had evening meals at a couple of restaurants on the road behind the hotel which were very good and reasonably priced. The pool area is lovely and you can walk across to the sister hotel to access the sea safely if you like to sea swim…I’d say the sea was warmer than the hotel pool in February. The only let down for such a high quality hotel was the entertainment. Perhaps this was because it was February and out of season, but it was pretty non existent. This didn’t bother us as we preferred to be doing our own thing in the evenings. In all, we really enjoyed our stay here and would 100% recommend this hotel.
