Hotel certainly has the WOW factor - lots of marble & glitz. The huge outdoor pool is amazing - shame about the indoor pool. The staff were very friendly & efficient throughout. The bedroom was let down on practicalities - the wardrobe was way too small & only 2 small drawers for putting clothes away + 3 tiny drawers in unit under the TV - the bedside tables didn't have drawers, so we lived out of our suitcases rather than unpack. There was no mirror over the desk area for doing your hair/makeup. The bathroom looked great but there was nowhere to hang anything except 2 hooks inside the shower. Likewise very little room to put toiletries. The pull out magnifying mirror was too low down to be of use & the mirror misted up when the shower had been used. Breakfast was very good with huge variety & various items could be cooked to order. More staff are needed in breakfast for the first hour of opening as it was often a long wait for coffee. Biting insects were a problem inside, friends who visited for drinks in the lobby bar were bitten, as were we, this was also the case at breakfast - maybe due to the large amount of greenery hanging on the outside of the building? We're glad we stayed but won't be returning.

Another fabulous stay at this amazing hotel. The Palace is exactly what is says a Palace. Everything about it is beautiful. We are part of the Vacation Club, the rooms are stunning. The view is stunning. The pool is stunning. The infinity pool on the roof, yes, stunning . The staff are excellent, professional, and friendly. The food is amazing. Excellent location.Lots of lovely restaurants within easy walking distance. Cannot recommend it highly enough

Our stay at the Savoy was only sullied by the ubiquitous mosquito bug. My fair-skinned wife suffered the most from their attention, and in the end, I had to pay for the services of a Clinic, a doctor, and a nurse for the treatment of their bites. The hotel did what it could to disperse the pests, but my wife suffered for the whole of our stay. We greatly admire the hotel's ambience and its very high standard, which we had previously experienced, was still at a level that gave us a very pleasurable week. We have every intention of returning next year and would wish to thank all the management and staff for the pleasure of our stay.

Excellent hotel with service of a high standard. The rooms were very well laid out with everything that you need the view towards the sea was perfect. Restaurants were very good with excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff were very helpful

We have just returned from another lovely week at the Savoy Palace. Superb views from most of the rooms. As ever the hotel is beautiful throughout. However the staff are the stars. Pedro and his reception team just cannot do enough for you. The pool team are great, making sure you get fresh towels when coming out after a swim in what has got to be the best pool in Funchal. We just cannot wait to go back but not sure when that will be.
