What can you say, this place blew me away. I’ve stayed at some top hotels around the world and this one is right up there. The suite was enormous separated into a large lounge area, then a bedroom, then a large bathroom. There were three showers including one outside on the deck. Everything was spotlessly clean, they provide a fully stocked complimentary mini bar which is replenished everyday – even down to a new lemon for your G&T. The meals in the restaurant are exceptional with service to match. But for me the outstanding part of Grootbos is their Foundation and Conservation work. Our drives and walks with Gareth were so interesting and thought provoking. They also have the Florilegium, where the scientific artwork on display brought tears to my eyes. A truly special place and I would love to return and to stay for longer than 2 nights to fully appreciate the beauty.

We spent time at Grootbos with the whole family. The service, accommodation and nature were fantastic. The entire service team at the reception, in the children's club, in the restaurant and on the tours was excellent. We met the owner Michael during dinner and had a long chat to learn more about the history and development path of Grootbos. We really appreciate that! Our children were surprised at how well he speaks German and excellent storyteller. Grootbos is beautiful because of its nature and the warmth of the team. THANKS for a few great days and it was fantastic, we'll be back. Family Hellmann

Grootbos Private Nature Reserve was a delight. We stayed at a luxurious cottage at the Forest Lodge overlooking the fynbos and the sea. Our guide, Rohan, was exceptionally knowledgeable, enthusiastic and helpful. He took us on a 4x4 tour of the reserve to introduce us to the beautiful fynbos landscape and later during our stay led us on a wonderful hike through both the fynbos and the milkwood forest, educating us about the flora and fauna along the way. He also drove us to the point of departure for our marine safari, guided us through Grootbos' botanical art gallery and took us on an excellent tour of Klipgat Cave near the reserve. The meals were delicious and enhanced by the wonderful service provided by Bobo, Princess, Andy and Theresa. Do not hesitate to book a stay at this exceptional property.

What an amazing and beautiful place! Spectacular views and accommodations make this property a must-visit location. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful--going out of their way to provide me a surprise birthday celebration with a harmonizing staff "choir" singing Happy Birthday! Our "room" was a beautiful suite, with a sitting area, large bedroom and beautiful bathroom. All had exceptional full wall views out the back overlooking the fynbos and the ocean. Our guide, Gareth, was very personable and so knowledgeable. Our nature safari was beautiful and educational-although a bit windy! Gareth's exceptional service even extended to preparing cappuccinos for us for before our very early departure! We enjoyed a whale watching tour while there, as well as a great "hike" down to the shore with an informative talk on the settlement history of the area. The breakfasts were amazing-a lovely buffet of fruits and fresh pastry, along with a great selection of hot entrees. Don't miss the special honey harvested at the reserve! Lunches and dinners were exceptional for foodies -- not so much for one member of our party, LOL! I have to say, the local gin and tonic, served in a large goblet with amazing blueberries and strawberries, was truly a treat! The lovely gift shop was too hard to resist and provided multiple holiday gift purchases. It was also very nice to learn of the programs provided by Grootbos to educate and train staff, providing all housing and food for those chosen to participate. A wonderful way to give back to the local community. It certainly explains the quality of the staff that works there. Wish we could've spent more time there. It was an amazing stay.

Recently stayed at Grootbos and loved every minute of it. The suites and lodge are wonderful, and the food is superb. We enjoyed all of the staff, and our sight seeing excursions were excellent. I wish we had had a couple more days there.
