Wonderful Service - Great Location

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

The hotel and service are above compare. The staff is so friendly, professional and helpful. They not only are helpful but they anticipate your needs as well. Our room was beautiful overlooking the lake and was walking distance or short ferry ride to many of the sites in Geneva. If you have time during your stay also check out the Walking Chocolate tour

Proper But Not Wonderful

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

This hotel is a beautiful facility, and the staff are all very nice. They have a "Can Do" attitude, where "Yes" is the answer. On the other hand, the rooms are very expensive and rather small for the price paid. Everything is well updated, except the floors are squeaky under the carpets and the shower was just over the bathtub. What bothered me was their lack of generosity/hospitality, unlike what we received at other top hotels in Switzerland. For example, they provide two water bottles and then charge 12F (I think that's correct) for a small bottle in the minibar. The welcome gift was meager (a couple pieces of cookie/cake). In other 5 star hotels in Switzerland, we received fruit baskets, beautiful chocolates, flowers, cakes, and complementary snacks--plus free minibar drinks, which included various Swiss soft drinks and a decent wine in one hotel. Maybe it's the Geneva way, but it was not the wonderful experience we were hoping for.

Fantastic Hotel!!

If I could give this hotel a 10 out of 5 I would!! We have travelled extensively all over the world and this hotel is spectacular. From the decor to the location to the staff to the food you will not find a better place to stay in Geneva. It is directly across from the water taxi station, a few blocks from the main train station and they are currently setting up a wonderful Christmas market across the street. The decor is beautiful and lush and the restaurants and breakfast are top notch! The thing that makes this hotel the most remarkable is the staff. They are the friendliest and most helpful staff of any European hotel we have ever stayed at. They go out of their way to know who you are and what your plans are and make you feel welcome and special. I want to congratulate whoever trained this staff, as they should teach a master class! We cannot recommend staying here enough when you are visiting Geneva!!

Thumbs Way Up From A Hotel Industry Veteran

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

I stayed at Hotel d'Angleterre during mid-October 2024 for a week. My family owns a hotel in the UK; I know a good hotel and restaurant when I see one. This hotel, centrally located in Geneva, ticks all the right boxes: excellent amenities, fine food, curated drinks in the famous Leopard Bar, and an entire staff that takes a personal interest in every guest. The ratio of staff to guest is approx. 2 to 1. When you are in the hospitality industry, one never forgets a face or name. Thanks all around to: M. Domezon, General Mgr.; M. Clatot, Revenue Recognition Mgr.; M. Oggier, Customer Experience Mgr.; and to Mdm. Clotilde of HR; and Argyrios, Marcio, Ludovic, Sebastien #1 and #2, Hassan, Nicolas, Chyril, Abbygaelle, Lisa Marie (a brilliant new hire), Danilo, Ortu, Francesco, Harold, and Olga. I have probably missed someone--apologies. To my fellow travelers: Run, don't walk, to this wonderful hotel.

Beautiful hotel on Lake Geneva. Everything about it was exceptional. Staff were super friendly and went out of their way to help us. The room was spacious and clean. The breakfast was delicious and the Afternoon Tea at Windows was amazing. We will definitely stay here again.
