Hotel Metropole Geneve is an icon of Swiss hospitality, presiding over the left bank of the famous Rue du Rhone since 1854. With unbeatable views over Lake Geneva, the Jet d’Eau and the English Garden with its famous Flower Clock, there is simply no better choice when visiting Geneva. While the building's historic facade has been carefully maintained, a full interior renovation made this one of Geneva's best boutique hotels. Neutral color palettes and modern design are found in all guest rooms, while suites take modern opulence to another level with Bang+Olufsen stereos, walk-in closets, and even separate dining rooms making appearances.

We paused in Geneva for a couple of days on our way to Meribel, just to take the edge off the jet-lag. In deciding where to stay, it really wasn't clear which side of the lake would be best for us, and we ended up thinking that whichever side we chose, we'd be spending plenty of time on the other side anyway. And that's exactly what happened. The Metropole is a great location opposite a park and close to the old town. Plenty of cafes nearby. Most surprising aspect was the road noise -- there wasn't any.

This one gentlemen, our maitre d, server (Gabriel Vaugnoux) was above and beyond…, the quality of service was outstanding, immaculate, his manners were supreme as if he was greeting a king, Give this man some recognition, he’s a gift! Gil M

The hotel is right at the center and next to the lake. Some rooms are refurbished. Overall, the hotel is rather old fashioned and price per night does not justify the service or location. Roof top bar has a good view but limited menu card. Rooms with lakeside view are noisy. Personnel is friendly and speaks English as well.

Cosy place - amazing location- service fast and quick- staff is helpful and friendly , it was river view and was amazing . I think after renovation it will be amazing. The room was a bit small but yet the special feeling with historical building overcomes that

Upon checking in we were told they had this planned power outage 12-5am, which already sounded like a problem. At midnight everything turned off including air so it because it got stuffy and hot , I opened window and listened to traffic and people noise for about an hour, finally started to nod off at 245, at 330am all of the lights came blazing on (even though I had turned them off before the power cut) so woke me up and then 4am they went back off/ air circulating problem repeated, then 5am everything blazed back on again. So woke up again so I slept from 530-725 when my alarm went off. Absolutely unacceptable. When I complained I was offered a 50% off voucher. Absolutely disgraceful and arrogant behaviour from the hotel. Has made a day of meetings very difficult. Will not be staying here again.
