About the Hotel

A landmark hotel in Scotland’s biggest, most vibrant city. Kimpton Blythswood Square has been a prestigious address since the early 19th century. Overlooking a private garden square, the hotel's Georgian townhouses were originally home to wealthy merchants and were later turned into the club headquarters for The Royal Scottish Automobile Club. Today, the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel has been spruced up for the 21st century, with a multi-million pound refurbishment that has refreshed all of the existing guest rooms and suites with an elegant new look and the launch of the 1,900 sq. feet two-bedroom Penthouse Suite with its own private balcony, media room and dining area. The Hotel also hosts a 10,000 sq. ft. Spa facility with 9 luxury treatment rooms, a thermal suite, 2 relaxation pools, and a lounge and café area.

UNREAL EXPERIENCE

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

My husband and I went to the spa on Tuesday. We had a wonderful time, facilities were lovely and super clean. Our treatments were unreal and we have to shout out Kim and Elaine - they were very friendly and gave the best facials and massages so thank you. Food also OUTSTANDING. Will definitely be back X

A Grand Hotel in the centre of Glasgow.

What can I say about The Blythwood? We were met at the front door of the hotel by the doorman. We were greeted with a smile and a "good evening" from him. We were helped up the stairs with our luggage and the door was held open so we could enter. The hotel foyer had such a beautiful aroma and this went thru the full ground floor. Our room was grand and spacious and very clean. We had an evening meal & breakfast, the food truly was excellent. The staff throughout our stay couldn't have been anymore helpful. If you feel like being spoilt I'd highly recommend staying here.

Misleading deals and poor customer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Misleading deals and poor customer service. I bought a Luxury stay for 2 as a Christmas gift for my partner after seeing an advert on the hotel social media. I intending to use it in May for a particular celebration as for personal reasons we couldn’t go before then. The promotion offered a discount and the link took me to the vouchers page which clearly advertise that vouchers for this deal are valid for 12 months (I checked this because of the date I needed). After paying and receiving the voucher it’s states it’s only valid for 3 months. The hotel customer service have been really poor, told me it was in the small print and stopped responding. This was a brand I trusted but I feel seriously misled.

A relaxing day with

We arrived in the Kimpton which a doorman showed us the way to the spa when we arrived we had cards to fill out for any conditions and allergies we had then been shown to the changing room which had secure locker facilities the we experienced 2 pools with jets and one with a storm and starry night feature which was nice then a small but concise sauna after that a steam room with a Quartz crystal was divine unfortunately we could not try the snowfall shower as we were wimps but it looked nice after that we got showered and changed for out massages mine included a back neck and shoulder featuring a detox foot wrap which was relaxing and refreshing the other massage was for a back neck and shoulder featuring a head and scalp which was amazing better than any other massage we have booked thank you to Jane and we can’t remember the other massage therapist From Sarah and chris

Disappointing afternoon tea

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Very disappointing afternoon tea lacked imagination and quality. Sandwiches were ok chicken pesto n smoked salmon. Small bun with Brie very dry as was the feta and beetroot tartlet.Scones apricot and fruit hard did not appear as though they were freshly made perhaps frozen. Cakes very poor selection and mini pavlova sugary. My cappuccino luke warm as had been sitting at bar waiting to be brought to table but did receive a fresh one.Plenty of waiting staff who were friendly and polite.Really felt that £45 was very overpriced have had much better afternoon teas elsewhere.Lovely hotel but needs to revisit afternoon tea menu to improve quality and selection.
