About the Hotel

A landmark hotel in Scotland’s biggest, most vibrant city. Kimpton Blythswood Square has been a prestigious address since the early 19th century. Overlooking a private garden square, the hotel's Georgian townhouses were originally home to wealthy merchants and were later turned into the club headquarters for The Royal Scottish Automobile Club. Today, the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel has been spruced up for the 21st century, with a multi-million pound refurbishment that has refreshed all of the existing guest rooms and suites with an elegant new look and the launch of the 1,900 sq. feet two-bedroom Penthouse Suite with its own private balcony, media room and dining area. The Hotel also hosts a 10,000 sq. ft. Spa facility with 9 luxury treatment rooms, a thermal suite, 2 relaxation pools, and a lounge and café area.

Expectations not met and service terrible

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Several instances of poor service made us wonder if anyone goes through basic customer service training. From checkin to checkout, we didn’t encounter one front-line member of staff who seemed to understand they were supposed to be providing service in a 5-star hotel rather than a motorway rest stop. We finally met a manager as we were checking out who did appear to understand why we were frustrated and did at last apologise.

Exceptional Experience

I stayed on the 19th of January to the 25 we arrived at 12am about 3 hours too early to check no fault of the hotel infact my own mistake but staff were very polite took our luggage and bags and told us of some stuff to do around the local areas , when we got back our room was ready with everything inside, the room was immaculately clean and very beautiful we both spent around 30 minutes just enjoying various probably minor features but I truly made our trip feel special, additionally while the room service breakfast menu was slightly limited for my partner we both always found something to eat and the same is true of the dinner menu although we tended to order delivery to the hotel which I know is dumb but we both have odd preferences and we did enjoy what we got, also Laurie a concierge was really helpful and got us a booking in cail bruich which was wonderful. The spa was amazing as well I see why it is considered an attraction separate of the hotel I will be honest the only possible issue I could find was the storm during my stay and frankly unless the hotel is run by gods I cannot fault them on this

UNREAL EXPERIENCE

My husband and I went to the spa on Tuesday. We had a wonderful time, facilities were lovely and super clean. Our treatments were unreal and we have to shout out Kim and Elaine - they were very friendly and gave the best facials and massages so thank you. Food also OUTSTANDING. Will definitely be back X

A Grand Hotel in the centre of Glasgow.

What can I say about The Blythwood? We were met at the front door of the hotel by the doorman. We were greeted with a smile and a "good evening" from him. We were helped up the stairs with our luggage and the door was held open so we could enter. The hotel foyer had such a beautiful aroma and this went thru the full ground floor. Our room was grand and spacious and very clean. We had an evening meal & breakfast, the food truly was excellent. The staff throughout our stay couldn't have been anymore helpful. If you feel like being spoilt I'd highly recommend staying here.

Misleading deals and poor customer service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Misleading deals and poor customer service. I bought a Luxury stay for 2 as a Christmas gift for my partner after seeing an advert on the hotel social media. I intending to use it in May for a particular celebration as for personal reasons we couldn’t go before then. The promotion offered a discount and the link took me to the vouchers page which clearly advertise that vouchers for this deal are valid for 12 months (I checked this because of the date I needed). After paying and receiving the voucher it’s states it’s only valid for 3 months. The hotel customer service have been really poor, told me it was in the small print and stopped responding. This was a brand I trusted but I feel seriously misled.
