A landmark hotel in Scotland’s biggest, most vibrant city. Kimpton Blythswood Square has been a prestigious address since the early 19th century. Overlooking a private garden square, the hotel's Georgian townhouses were originally home to wealthy merchants and were later turned into the club headquarters for The Royal Scottish Automobile Club. Today, the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel has been spruced up for the 21st century, with a multi-million pound refurbishment that has refreshed all of the existing guest rooms and suites with an elegant new look and the launch of the 1,900 sq. feet two-bedroom Penthouse Suite with its own private balcony, media room and dining area. The Hotel also hosts a 10,000 sq. ft. Spa facility with 9 luxury treatment rooms, a thermal suite, 2 relaxation pools, and a lounge and café area.

Was very disappointed to find that there wasn’t a seperate bar to sit and enjoy a drink and chat in a nice warm, welcoming and quiet atmosphere. Was advised to sit in downstairs in very noisy , busy restaurant. Breakfast table service was poor.

Our 2nd visit to this beautiful hotel. The hotel is decorated beautifully for Christmas right now! The staff are all very welcoming and professional. Big shout out to reception staff for helping us. They have an happy hour from 4-5 with red or white wine being offered which is a nice touch. Our room was a sleeping room, overlooking a central area of the hotel which was very noisy from around 4am. The room was nicely presented and clean. Nice selection of mini bar soft drinks and bag of crisps . Breakfast is a self service and choose from a menu options for hot items and pancakes, eggs etc. lovely selection of fresh fruit etc. We didn’t use the spa but the hours are quite restricted for hotel guests which we find doesn’t meet our needs, so we haven’t been. (7-8am or 5-8pm).

Staying at the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel & Spa in Glasgow is like coming home, only with a touch of extra luxury. The moment I walked in, I was struck by how beautifully they blend Glasgow’s historic charm with modern touches—it’s like stepping into a refined sanctuary in the heart of the city. From the friendly welcome (including a complimentary glass of wine!) to the elegant and comfortable rooms, everything is thoughtfully designed to make you feel both relaxed and indulged. The rooms feel personal and cozy, with beautiful decor that hints at the rich history of the building but includes all the modern comforts you could want. The spa was a real highlight for me—especially the thermal suite, which offered a perfect escape from the buzz of the city. Each treatment feels genuinely refreshing, with some unique Scottish touches that make it even more special. And let me tell you, the restaurant, iasg, didn’t disappoint. The seafood dishes are as fresh as it gets, and you can tell they’re passionate about sourcing sustainable, local ingredients. The staff made my stay particularly memorable. It’s not just their attentiveness; they have a warm, friendly approach that makes you feel like a welcomed guest rather than just another visitor. For anyone looking to explore Glasgow while having a peaceful retreat to come back to, I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. Kimpton Blythswood Square has set the bar high—I’ll be back as I have done many times.

Our short time here was just okish and for a so called 5 star hotel we expected it to be so much better. We have stayed in budget hotels where we slept better, received better service and had a lovely breakfast in comparison with the Blythswood. Sleep quality is not helped by the loud noise of the loud car racers that drive around outside through the night. Breakfast was a massive let down for us. Basic buffet items that are not the hottest with a very very small Ala carte offering. The service at breakfast was downright poor with drinks orders taking forever, no toast served and food order taken incorrectly. In our opinion the hotel should focus on the basics of service and perhaps drop their prices per night based on what they offer.

Ian went above and beyond to get the all the non-feather pillows that we had requested on the reservation. He is so great and the service here is completely outstanding! The hotel is beautiful and in such a beautiful location. We are really enjoying our stay and loving Glasgow!
