A WEDDING VENUE - NOT A HOTEL NOW.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 19 hours ago

Over the years, we have stayed here probably eight times. Sadly in this beautiful resort, the St Regis obviously want to make their monies from weddings not from being a bona fide hotel, even though the location and beach are amongst the most beautiful anywhere. This is what happens for each wedding: i. there is only one entrance to the hotel and it is filled with pictures of the bride and groom and there are dancers and drums for arriving guests, however, not any hotel guests, only wedding guests. It appears they have taken the entire hotel, which in fact they do! Respectfully to the young couple, their faces all l over the hotel entrance do nothing for guests arriving who are strangers to them! 2. A large old bus draws up and then the music plays and the dancers dance. Lots of guests pile out, they average 250. 3. The hotel only has one large outdoor space they call 'the grand lawn' which actually is a patch of grass worn down by the continual weddings. One side of the lawn is the only pool, and the other side is the beach and seafood restaurant which practically touches it. 4. These weddings are three day events. Before the guests arrive there are banging and PA system noises all day as they are setting up. 5. On the nights of the wedding, the guests are beautifully attired and as a hotel guest you feel like an intruder. Then the nights of the parties, there is drumming, strobe lights, loud music just vile! 6. The restaurants are empty and its miserable as a hotel guest being in them. In the Italian one night, there were six hotel guests and about 10 staff serving! 7. However, the terraces are so small, including MIRI their main breakfast restaurant , that you would be lucky to get a table outside in the beautiful weather if there were any more guests! 8.We had two big weddings in five days The wedding season starts Oct and goes to the end of February. We could hear all the wedding noise in our room and the tranquility at the resort was ruined for us. 9. For us there was no light choice for lunch anywhere even their main restaurant. We went inside one day for cheese sandwich. It came cold, tiny piece of cheese and tons of tomato puree . Obviously Marriott have decided to go where the money is, and just use this beautiful property as a wedding venue. It almost makes a fool of the guests to expect them to have the same experience as would be when there are no weddings. On those days, the beach is just paradise and bliss with amazing service. But when a wedding is on, there are tons of workmen on 'the grand lawn' and you see them as you are walking to the beach or pool and are disturbed all day. I have recommended this resort to so many people over the years. Now my adult five children are grown with their own, I could not recommend this hotel to them or my friends as its not really a 'hotel' any longer. We mentioned our concerns to the management, but just received the usual platitudes.

Sunday Brunch Done Right

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Went for brunch at St. Regis, and it was totally worth it! The food spread was massive—chats, biryanis, grills, seafood, and desserts that felt never-ending. Everything tasted amazing, and the presentation was just wow. The vibe was fancy yet super comfortable, and the staff was really warm and attentive. If you’re looking for a lavish Sunday feast, this is the place

Amazing resort in South Goa! Totally worth it!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Honestly, best luxury resort in South Goa! My room was huge with an amazing view over the water. The bed was super comfy, had AC & a mini fridge, and the bathroom + shower were perfect. The resort has a massive pool, and the private beach was absolutely stunning. Also booked a spa massage and it was 10/10! If you’re looking for a stay in South Goa, this is def the place. Highly recommend!

The Best Luxury Resort in India for families or couples

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

In this world there is luxury, but then there is true luxury, something that connects with your soul, something that creates emotion and lifetime memories, and The St. Regis is one of these special places. Hidden away on its own private beach in Goa the location is stunning. The resort itself as you would expect from any St. Regis is beautifully laid out but they have made the most of the layout to make everything feel very natural. I travelled with my family and this layout was made very special for the children as they had access to their own bicycles to explore the resort. We were assigned a beautiful villa which was tastefully decorated and it was ideal for our family as it offered privacy and ultimate comfort. Each Villa comes with your own personal butler and this was a fantastic addition for things like booking restaurants, getting advice on things to do, getting the children to the kids club, or ordering some snacks for the villa. The pool was one of the highlights of this resort as it is set with a natural backdrop onto the gardens and beach and the level of service and quality of food and drinks was exceptional. Another highlight of our stay was the daily champagne tradition each evening when they offered Dating back to the battles of Napoleon Bonaparte, who famously opened champagne with his saber in both victory and defeat, the art of sabrage is the signature ceremony of the St. Regis Evening Rituals series. Another highlight was on one of the evenings we were treated to a romantic dinner experience outdoors in a specially designed pod. The food, drinks, and personal service were exceptional and I would highly recommend this for any special occasion. Overall this St. Regis Goa stay and experience was a 10/10 and this is one of my all-time favourite family hotel stays ever.
