We travelled by boat from Florida for 3 nights at OBB. Four of us guys and we planned to fish two days and then back to FL. We had 4 rooms in the peach colored building. The positive about our stay was that the food and service in the restaurant was good. We went to the beach upon arrival and the beach chairs were mostly rusted and broken, not a good start. After going to our rooms to get ready for dinner, we discovered that the water in two of the rooms (remember, all in the same building) smelled so foul you could not bathe in it nor could you use it to brush your teeth. The water in the other two rooms was fine. The two of us with foul water used the other rooms to shower and then complained to the front desk. Nothing was done about the foul smelling water (if you flushed the toilet you needed to open all doors to air out the foul smell). When we checked out, I brought two water bottles with samples of the foul water to the desk and again complained and stated we should not be charged full price for the two rooms with bad water. Each room for 3 nights, with resort levy, service charge and amenities fee was over a grand. They gave a credit for $60 for each of the two rooms with terrible water that could not be used. I would never go back!!!

I regret to inform you that I encountered several issues during my stay. I had booked two rooms, specifically requesting one near the dock due to a guest's mobility concerns. However, upon check-in, both rooms were located the farthest from the dock. After some back and forth, one room was moved slightly closer. Unfortunately, my room had a malfunctioning air conditioning unit that was quite noisy and not working. Since the phone wasn't working either, I had to walk to the office to report the issue. An engineer eventually arrived and couldn’t fix it, and I was then moved to another room. However, once settled there, the TV also didn't work. Again, I had to return to reception since the phone was still out of order in this other room too. A technician came and resolved that issue. Additionally, the coffee machine was not clean, so I took the initiative to clean it myself. The following day, the cleaning staff neglected to leave coffee and cream at the room. Supposedly there was bicycles available to use them and a daily fee was charged. However, when I attempted to use one, the office was closed, and all three bicycles located by the door were broken. When I checked out, I paid for both rooms as initially booked. However, a week later, I was charged for a boat slip that I neither reserved nor paid a deposit for. After numerous emails, the representatives insisted I made this reservation. Eventually, I received an email stating, "Please note that we refunded your card.." but I have yet to see the credit. I disputed the charge with my credit card company, and that process is still ongoing. My friend, who handled the deposit and booking, is still having issues with your office regarding the deposit, which should have been acknowledged since it was necessary for the reservation. As you can see, I was quite dissatisfied with your services. I hope you take this feedback into consideration for improvement, as there is significant room for enhancement in areas such as room service and booking management.

The video and pictures on the website are SO MISLEADING and have undoubtedly been taken 20 years ago. This place is desperately run down, coated in black mould on every surface and especially in the air-conditioning, and has an absolutely deplorable restaurant. The only upside is the beautiful location, but even that has its downsides as there is nothing in the far west of the island except abject poverty and it is an hour back to Freeport. The Old Bahama Bay might be palatable to fishers who stay on their boats and have their catch prepared by the kitchen, but we cut a 5-night stay down to one and headed back to Freeport (and eventually left Grand Bahama early).

Such a wonderful place to visit!! The staff is awesome and the grounds are beautiful! Our daughter's celebrated her 7th birthday at the marina and they made every moment so special! We have stayed at the marina 2 times this summer and have no complaints!

Based on pictures, price and website description we thought we were staying at a nice resort. Upon arrival it is a cute setup and has great potential. I would not go back again. The facilities are run down and dirty. The bathrooms had cracked tiles, stains and needed to be redone. Carpenter ants came through the cracks and there was no maintenance person . The cleaning lady and I stuffed toilet paper in the cracks after she killed dozens of ants with bleach. They caulked the shower as a temporary fix. The air conditioner made a dripping sound 24/7. The pool was dirty and cloudy. Never saw anyone skim it or check the water. There were lots of employees around but none working. There was grass and weeds growing up between the concrete tiles around the pool. The pool bar was expensive and if you ordered food it was over cooked and took minimum an hour even for a salad . And usually you had to order 2 or 3 things again because they would bring order and only have part of it. The kayaks and paddle boards were nice to have to use but the boards and paddles were cracked and broken some taped together with electrical tape. I could go on about this resort like the pool towels were stained and a hodge podge of towels left from guests and some newer towels. It is obviously the only place to stay and no competition . We won’t be back. We spent what we could have spend at an all inclusive Hard Rock hotel in Cancun but stayed at a hotel that was not even as nice as a red roof inn. The marina was nice if you are staying in your boat and bring all the food you need then you will be good.

What an incredible stay my friend and I had at Old Bahama Bay! Everyone went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, cared for and looked after during our entire stay. They certainly know how to knock people's socks off with customer service!
