This former Relais and Chateaux member is hosted in a stunning 16th century villa on a hill dominating Rome It was constructed by a Cardinal and is filled with frescoes painted by Italian masters that are mentioned in history of art books among which the restored galleria del Pannini. Accommodations are located in the main villa or in the adjoining paggeria and limonaia and are furnished in traditional style with rich fabrics, walnut furniture, terracotta flooring and travertine bathrooms. My room was located in the main villa with views of the city of Rome and boasted high vaulted ceilings. Wandering through the many frescoed rooms is a wonderful experience that makes you live in history especially when the night falls and the light from the lampshades enhances the details. The beauty of the establishment is truly remarkable and service is efficient and unobtrusive. Hat off to Hana from the reception who followed me from the reservation all through my stay satisfying all of my requests delivering personal attentive service making it a very pleasant stay.

A large villa with beautiful views down the valley from the main house. The villa is grand, but quite worn, but pleasant nonetheless. Breakfast does not have a large selection, but everything is there, including omelette and ham and cheese. There was also a complimentary bottle of water in the room. Considering the size of the hotel, there are not many parking spaces, but it seems that, in general, everything should fit in the territory. Having an outdoor pool is a big plus in summer. There is also a bar by the pool. In addition to the main house, rooms are offered in two outbuildings. We discovered by chance that all the buildings are interconnected by underground corridors. In bad weather, it is very convenient to go to the main building from the outbuildings for breakfast or dinner. We chose a room in the adjacent building, because according to the previous information, all the rooms in the main building were 16 m2 (including luxury numbers and that is too little). An Executive room with a size of 20 m2 was offered in the adjacent building. While walking in the main building, we saw a couple of rooms that had just been cleaned and it was obvious that they were significantly larger than our 20 m2 room. If I had the correct information, I would have preferred these rooms because the room was nicer and the main house has better views. The pool area is quite poorly maintained. With better cleaning and a little renovation, the appearance could be greatly improved. The pool itself is quite small (too small for swimming). During peak hours, there may be a shortage of sunbeds by the pool. The room looked much better on the pictures (Executive double) than the one we got (room 73). The room was very ascetically furnished and everything was quite worn. The diverter button for the shower mixer was broken and it was difficult to switch to the overhead shower. There was no possibility to make tea and coffee in the room. Check-out at 10:30 at the latest is obviously too early. Although there were some nuances that could have been better, we are definitely ready to come here again.

I stayed here for 3 nights in August along with a number of others on a language programme! Whilst my room wasn’t the best (air con non existent and no covering on my ground floor bathroom window 😮) the Villa with all its history was a captivating place to stay! The food was great and the pool area was a welcome and refreshing respite from the heat of extremely hot August days! The staff were lovely and very welcoming and special thanks to Julia for her very cheerful disposition! 👍👍

Great food, location, views and architecture. Faultless service and cleanliness. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming throughout our 4 day stay. Courtesy car to Frascati Town nearby with lovely local restaurants and bars and an easy hassle-free 25min train service to Central Rome for sight seeing. Highly recommend.
