The room is very confortable and the bed is great! Sheets of excellent quality also. Service was espetacular! We had lunch and dinner there for 3 days and they served us all with extreme patience and style. We were a group of more than 15 - school reunion. The Spa is excellent also and we all loved it! Our special thanks to Priscila, Levy (personal trainer), Mr Luis - restaurant manager, and Luis and Alexandra - waiters.

Lovely spacious room with a delightful private veranda. Lovely setting. Fabulous spa! Dianne had the hot stones massage which was wonderful. We both had exceptional facials. The large veranda overlooking the beach was a delightful spot to enjoy an evening caipirinha.

I last visited the hotel in 1985 - apart from installing WiFi (which connects only intermittently inside the rooms) and building a spa nothing seems to have changed. But time has taken its toll and the infrastructure is now decrepit. There is mould growing on the walls in the en-suite garden outside our room (forgivable in a tropical country), rusty nails secure the panes of glass in the door to the outside. Mould is also growing on the door frame to the bathroom, poorly covered with paint (unforgivable). Service is friendly but slow - I speak Portuguese which was lucky as apart from reception few speak it. The one exception was the trainers in the gym - who were both excellent, professional and incredibly helpful. Compared to outside the hotel the food is way overpriced. The breakfast was adequate albeit more like a four star hotel than a five star hotel, orange juice is from a carton not freshly squeezed which even the lowliest “padaria” would do - although the “pao de queijo” (cheese bread balls) were excellent. We visited mid week with hotel occupancy at I guess less than 10%. Pool service was slow (I hate to think what it would be like at weekends when the hotel is apparently full) - and the nachos served there with guacamole were clearly Doritos. Their roped off beach area was dirty, with used tissues, beer cans and plastic bottles on the ground. There were staff posted there to provide service, they simply looked on oblivious to the impression it was creating. Sadly way past its prime - badly in need of renovation and with service standards that need a reboot, this is likely the last time we will stay here. Goodbye and farewell Casa Grande.

We met our friends at the lobby bar. Fantastic service from Ronaldo. Great cocktails and various appetizers. The wine list is on a tablet but with very good selection. Overall a great experience and we will be back. Also, this location is great for staying anyplace in the area.

Old hotel, has mold, it’s barely renewed Noise. Fridge, windows, even engines. Bad service. Workforce too inexperienced. Expensive. It’s a scam. People stay because they have not much option. Not because it is worth it.
