Sofitel Hamburg Alter Wall

Hamburg is a beautiful city and the location for Sofitel Alter Wall makes your life easier if you want to walk around town and enjoy most of its attractions. The hotel has a very nice SPA area and a great breakfast buffet. Room could be slightly larger to be 100%.

The hotel is modern. The room is spacious. However, they did some mistakes during my stays When I complained about it, the reception said they would do something nice for us as a compensation. But they never done it. The mistakes that they made was regarding the taxi that we reserved from airport to the hotel, and from hotel to the airport had never arrived. It happened twice. It happened such a long time ago, I rather not discuss it in details. Also, I do not want anybody to lose job or get yelled at. I do hope that you have solve the problem by now. I suggest your concierge has to always double check making sure the taxi from/to airport arrived, and the taxi driver has the patience to wait for at least 15 minutes more at the airport. I also suggest the management to offer more room upgrades (if available) to any member; to keep your guests are happy, especially in case your team made mistakes. Other great 5-star hotels does it too.

Stayed at the Sofitel during a recent 2 day business trip to Hamburg. Hotel has excellent Covid procedures beginning with the check in and the possibility to order the breakfast in your room or downstairs in the restaurant, where social distancing is strictly enforced. Room was very comfortable and had all of the usual Sofitel touches such as a Nespresso machine and kettle in the room, even during Covid restrictions, which is a nice touch. Breakfast was excellent and served directly to the table as the usual buffet concept is currently forbidden. We managed to hire a conference room on the first floor for a business meeting which was also very helpful in these challenging times. Highly recommended and hope to be back again soon!

Stayed there for a long weekend in October. Good Covid safety concept. The room is Sofitel standard with a comfortable bed. The marble bathroom adds a nice touch. Good breakfast selection. Check-in in the evening could have been quicker.
