On the secluded northern tip of Hamilton Island, and set in lush tropical gardens, qualia is a completely private hideaway that has been designed for your total secluded relaxation and true sensory indulgence. Each of qualia’s 60 light-filled pavilions faces the water, surrounded by lush tropical bushland within the resort. All pavilions boast the spectacular tropical bushland or stunning postcard views of the Whitsundays.

This resort exceeded all our expectations. Seamless guest experience from the time we arrived at the airport until the day we left. The staff were professional, friendly and attentive. The villa was stunning, and the two restaurants offered an outstanding culinary experience with sensational views. Thank you, Qualia we will be back!

Sadly all is not what it seems at this resort. It's certainly not the Four Seasons. The resort is suffering from a very high turnover of staff. Students come to the resort for their 3 month visa extension and leave the island to go back to Sydney which is part of the Government program. Because of this, the service is very inconsistent with a continuous churn of newly trained staff with very little, if any customer service experience. Sadly this transmits down to the guests staying at the resort. To summaries our experience during our stay, great location, great property, very clean, helpful front desk, rooms are very comfortable with great views, very poor service from the food and beverage teams.

Went to the Long Pavilion for dinner. Can you believe that after being offered water at the beginning of the night with no charge mentioned, we then got a charge of $65.00 for 10 people. While the food was ok, the fact that they charged ridiculous tainted the meal. Cost was Outrageous

Amazing place. Service and amenities were beyond expectations. It is truly a paradise. Guests get their own buggy/golf cart to get around the resort and Hamilton Island. The only disappointment was limited dining time options due to capacity.

This was our second stay at qualia in under 12 months. Our first experience was lovely with a few large service hiccups, but our second stay was impeccable. My husband and I took advantage of the stay 4 pay for 3 winter offer and booked in to celebrate our wedding anniversary at the most amazing place on earth. Our stay was the week before race week. WE were lucky enough to stay in Winward Pavilion 23 which is absolutely exquisite. This pavilion has uninterrupted views of sunrise and sunset and the most gorgeous outlook of the Coral Sea. On the day of our arrival being a tropical climate there was a severe storm which delayed our landing, several other planes were redirected and did not get to land so we were extremely lucky. The weather was not amazing for the first two days of our stay but soon cleared up for the final two days of our stay. We were greeted by the qualia staff at the desk at the airport who looked after our luggage, and we were swiftly transferred to the gated oasis. Upon arrival we were taken care of by Aron Farrell who is always a delight and then handed over the beautiful Grace for our check in - what an amazing asset to qualia! Grace was professional, informative and incredibly capable. She is worth a standout mention as her demeanour is genuine and very fitting for a resort of this Calibre. Check in was seamless while we sipped out Charles Heidsieck Champagne. Our itinerary was confirmed, and we were taken to our enchanting pavilion. The Pavilion To say this was divine is an absolute understatement. Even with the weather being less than ideal the picturesque views and top-quality amenities were exquisite and this set the tone for luxury immediately. The view just absolutely encompasses you and envelopes you in tranquillity. We previously stayed in a Leeward pavilion and if you are tossing up whether or not the extra money is worthwhile for a Windward Pavilion I would say absolutely, do yourself a favour and book a Windward. Housekeeping always had the room tidy between breakfast and when we returned to our room, and they were like the unseen angels where nothing was too much trouble. The Restaurants We dined at both Long Pavilion and Pebble Beach, and both were amazing. Long pavilion offers a beautiful a la carte menu with fresh seafood and plenty of protein options or vegan options if that is your way. Every dish we tried at long pavilion was both beautifully presented and tasted amazing. The focus for both restaurants is highlighting local ingredients and providing clean complex flavours whilst not overpowering the hero of the dish. Pebble does a six-course degustation menu with paired wines if you so wish. If you have dietary requirements, they will modify the dishes for you. Every dish was gorgeous but if you like a choice of what you want and not keen on the surprise element, long pavilion may be more suited to you. Breakfast is also served at long pavilion and is just beautiful, many upper end resorts do buffets, but I definitely prefer the quality breakfast provided by qualia over sheer quantity. The portions are generous, and I doubt anyone is left wanting. The Spa: Amazing!! We had a beautiful couple’s deep tissue massage with some amazing therapists. Of course, the surroundings of the spa were opulent and in theme with the broader resort. CUSTOMER SERVICE We have travelled to many five-star resorts around Australia and internationally, previously, I would have said that for the cost incurred at qualia, Hayman Island was not far off the experience for less money spent. The story is very different now. Our experience at qualia this time around was unparalleled. The new General Manager Elena Borisyuk knows a thing or two about how to run a 6-star resort. In my opinion her attention to detail in relation to customer satisfaction throughout the stay makes the resort what it is and lifts it to the next level. Some managers just go through the motions, however, Elena is unique and an absolute asset to qualia as she has a genuine interest in the betterment of the guest experience which can sometime purely be left to the staff on the frontline, however she shares that responsibility which makes her an amazing leader in her field. In sum, if you haven’t been, GO! If you are tossing up between a Leeward and a Windward its Windward all the way Thank you, qualia team, for a wonderful memorable holiday experience. I will have to seek our Charles HIEDESECK in my every day life to pretend I am on holidays until next time….
