Capella Hanoi

We stayed at the Capella hotel during a tour of Vietnam in November 2004. The hotel is located in the heart of the old town only a few blocks away from the Hoan Kiem lake and the night market. We were within easy walking distance of restaurants, shops, and tourist attractions. The hotel is beautifully appointed, but it has a roaring 20’s theme that some people might find disappointing if they were looking for décor that is less European. The rooms were small but comfortable. The bathtubs in particular were fantastic. The amenities the hotel provides are first rate. There is a well-stocked mini bar and a cake and tea hour in the afternoon and a happy hour in the evening, both with complementary snacks and drinks. Breakfast was a nice combination of a la carte dishes and a superb buffet. The hotel staff is exceptional, although we at times found it difficult to communicate orally in English and resorted to using Google Translate or just typing something into our phones and showing it to the staff. Overall, this was a minor inconvenience and not out of the ordinary with most places we stayed during our trip. We highly recommend this hotel for luxury accommodations in Hanoi.

Our first visit to Hanoi and we can confidently say that this hotel is outstanding. The detailing of the decor and service was exceptional. I now understand why Capella is rated as the best in the world

I think in the top 5 hotels I've stayed in the world. We had the Junior Suite and the room was beautiful and unique. Service at every part of the experience was amazing. Really at the top of what a 5 star hotel is even compared to other competitive metro areas.

We need hotels to learn from Capella. I have stayed at a lot of nice exceptional places and never experienced the level of satisfaction at a hotel like we did here. The location is perfect. Couldn’t have been more satisfied.
