Upon arrival we were greeted by Linh from Butler Services and offered lemongrass tea + champagne whilst we checked in. Our room was ready approx. 30 min early which was great. We had been upgraded to a Suite in the Heritage wing - WOW the suite was amazing. We were offered complimentary afternoon tea however had to decline as we had alternate arrangements. Upon our return evening cocktails & canapés had commenced. We advised Boa our waitress in Le Club that we were heading for the 6pm history + bunker tour. She kindly kept our table including drinks reserved during this time & when the tour concluded we were served the canapés, wow what a selection & large offering which also included warm breads. We really appreciated this attentiveness. The history + bunker tour was very informative. It’s only available for hotel guests and can book out. We received a nice selection of chocolates & macarons for our welcome gift. We had an amazing nights sleep, the bed was the comfiest I’ve ever slept in. There was no outside noise and the bath which included a bath menu was also amazing. We had an early check out and were offered a breakfast box to go however we did manage a quick bite before we left. Would l stay here again? Absolutely. I do wish we had more time here to use the pool and other hotel amenities. It is also in a great location not far from the Old Quarter.

Our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids aged 9 & 7) loved our stay at the Sofitel Hanoi. Beautifully decorated for the holidays. We were upgraded to a grand premium room in the opera wing which was appreciated. The heritage wing and its separate lobby are certainly a step in style if you can afford it but we were happy with the opera wing as it was more within our budget. The breakfast buffet (in the heritage wing in a glass atrium near pool) was amazing. We had one pool day at the hotel and were the only ones there and had a great lunch poolside. This is the place to stay in Hanoi! We stayed at the JW Marriott Hanoi at the end of our travels and although it’s beautiful as well, it’s in a modern part of the city in more of a business park so you don’t get the true Hanoi experience of staying in the old quarter near all the sights like you do with the Sofitel.

Well-appointed and well-located hotel with fantastic amenities and service. This Sofitel location is 5 star for a reason! We appreciated the thoughtful touches for our honeymoon and found the club benefits very nice. The staff is very helpful and attentive.

Location, service and luxury A great place to stay, an experience of hotel excellence, not often provided in the current climate. Staff that truly care, in an environment crafted to speak heritage. Stay in the 'heritage wing' if you can, but I am sure the service will be excellent wherever you stay.

I was just there to enjoy the ambience and had lunch at L'épicerie restuarant. Everyone from the staff i met in my short 2 hours there was amazing. Very friendly and ensured I was well taken care of. They are very friendly and were happy to share it is one of the oldest hotels in Hanoi, if not in all of Vietnam! Very classy and elegant design and interiors. I want to especially compliment Ms. Bao, who is one of the waitresses at L'epicerie. She was taking my orders for a lovely Provencal Fish Soup and Vietnamese noodles with spicy vegetables, but she went way beyond ordinary service. It was very thoughful when she recommended how i would like the dishes to be served. She always had a smile on her face! She also did not mind to go and check for me, where the old vintage car that was parked in the hotel was at! I was trying to get a photo with the nice dame!
