Reviews for Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi

Perfect stay at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 12 hours ago

Everything about this Hotel was excellent. We arrived at 7am after an overnight flight from the UK and on check in were immediately offered an upgrade to a Heritage Room due to it being International Womens Day. Although official check in was at 2pm the staff particularly Miu worked very hard to find us a room and we were well settled in a beautiful quiet room overlooking the pool by 10am. Meanwhile we were very well looked after by all the staff but particularly Tyson offering us tea and helpful information about the Hotel. We even had an impromptu visit to the Bomb Shelter. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed every aspect of our time at the Hotel. The staff were all extremely helpful and I would thoroughly recommend this Hotel which is a peaceful oasis amid the hustle and bustle of Hanoi. We chose this Hotel because of its fascinating history combined with excellent reviews.

Outstanding hotel, great service - don‘t miss out on the club floor!

Excellent hotel with outstanding service. Perfectly centrally located in Vietnam, everything is in walking distance. Good breakfast, nice bar, cozy rooms. Definitely get a club floor room and dont miss out the happy hour from 5-7 with free flow drinks including champagne and a tasty buffet. Highly recommended, would come back anytime.

Good location, hall of fame, friendly staffs

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

I recently stayed at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi for two nights for leisure, and it was a wonderful experience. The concierge provided excellent recommendations for local spots, food, and cafes - they are the best! The hotel’s historic charm and legendary status were evident throughout, especially in the "Hall of Fame" showcasing notable past guests. With impeccable service and a rich history, it’s a truly memorable place to stay in Hanoi!

Pleasant stay

The Grand luxury room is as the name describes. grand luxury. The bed was very comfortable in a spacious room with a view of the garden that transports your from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi to a quaint French garden. Much time was spent enjoying the details in the decor of the room. The hotel is positioned perfectly for a short stroll to view the interesting architecture of the government buildings or to enjoy the cafes with their wonderful coffee. I was there on business and many bank HQ’s are also located closely by. The room while it is an older design the bathroom enjoys the comforts of modern design and facilities. The room did not have a bath which would have been very welcoming. The Staff are also very nice and accommodating.

Lovely French Colonial hotel but missed the personal touch.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

The hotel is a lovely French colonial style hotel with decent room sizes, fresh and clean. Good location and easy to get to the Ho Hoan Kiem lake and the Opera house. A short walk to the old quarter. Staff were the least friendly of the four hotels we stayed in during our trip e.g. we asked to change some money and was told it was the weekend so we should use a cash machine. Eventually the front desk went to one of the many restaurants to get some currency. I asked for the Terrace Bar in English (three times), only when we asked for La Terrasse did the person at the desk offer (in English) to show us where it was. Small things but these are the things which make the difference. Nice experience but missed the personal touch we enjoyed in the other hotels (including another Accor hotel) in Vietnam.
