Had a great family stay with 3 children 7yo, 5yo and 10months. The kids loved the kids club (was an extra fee per day) which freed me and the wife to relax in daytime. The pool and waterfront is gorgeous. Good food and activities especially if bringing children. (Roasting smores, outdoor movie night etc). Would be careful selecting room when booking, some rooms are second floor with no elevator which can be a bit of pain with carrying baby stroller and luggage, but was manageable for us. Overall family really enjoyed the experience and hope to visit again next summer.

We have been celebrating our daughter's birthday every year at this amazing property with our family! The memories created are just priceless. This is the gift that she would not want to change and another successful stay we just enjoyed this past weekend! Thank you to all the team to make it happen!

We stayed in an ocean view suite and it didn’t disappoint. Enjoyed reading books by the fire in the evening, on the lounge chairs on the private deck in the day. The room amenities were top notch, turn down service included chocolates. The grounds are lovely and walks along the cove were peaceful.

I was here for a conference in early fall, and only used my room, meeting, and meal facilities. Very comfortable rooms and facilities. Attentive staff at meals. Room temp control sometimes moved above or below my set point, even though outside temp didn't vary much. I would like to visit for leisure in summer, when I would use more outdoor space and waterfront.

The good: nice location, views are beautiful and Thoreau's a great tiny bar with a warm vibe for the fall/winter months. The Bad: Very expensive. When in your room, you can hear everything from your neighboring room. Walls are thin; we could hear them as if they were sharing our room! We could also hear the people above us walking back and forth across their room. It really makes you feel so uncomfortable.
