Reviews for Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski La Habana

luxury next to poverty

This hotel is an oasis in the midst of Cuba's scarcity as it is luxurious rooms and has good quality products. The location is excellent, next to the Capitolio. The rooftop pool has a wide view of Havana. The price is a little high for the Cuban reality.

Horrible

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Horrible experience. Stuff goes to your room and search your personal stuff. We left our room and when came back things were not as we left them. Courtains were closed even though we left it open and our clothes were in different position. Working stuff did not care at all. And before, when we check in we wanted to change our room because the position was right next to the restaurant, they didn’t care at all. Did not even solve what happened when we said somebody was in our room. For the many we left here, you can get better hotel. Don’t come to this hotel.

A big disappointment

In August my partner and I booked a stay in the Gran Hotel Bristol Managed by Kempinksi. Beginning of November, we were notified that due to the hurricane the property was closed and we were rebooked to Paseo del Prado. Being aware that there is indeed another Kempinski property in La Habana with almost 250 rooms, we were surprised to have been rebooked to a different hotel chain, but given the circumstances in Cuba we did not want to cause any additional trouble. One day prior to our arrival in Cuba, we were again notified that there was another rebooking and we would finally be relocated to Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinksi – which obviously made sense to us. Upon arrival on a November evening at around 10 pm and after almost 24 hours of travel from Switzerland, there was no reservation in the hotel and we were quite shocked about the attitude presented by the Kempinski Manzana team and the unwillingness to grant us a room. The team insisted that the booking was in Paseo del Prado and clearly did not want to give us the opportunity to change the booking to their property, arguing after some back and forth that the hotel was fully booked. A couple of minutes later, they presented us the “option” to stay at their hotel at the rack rate, knowing our entire stay was prepaid and could not be refunded and which undoubtedly made clear we were lied to before. Eventually we made our way to Paseo del Prado, without being asked if we needed a taxi. Having having stayed at various Kempinksi Hotels from Berchtesgaden to Moscow, Cairo and many others, my partner and I are still struck by the unprofessional and inhospitable attitude presented by the team in La Habana.

Perfect place to stay

The best hotel in Habana. Everything from the place to internet. The roof top is amazing. And the room with the view was the best. Best place to stay by far. The restaurant and the habanos that they sell are legit. Habana is a intense place and the hotel let you know the right places to attend and the tips you need to know

I had a great stay at the hotel. the team was very assisting all times. I am vegan which can be challenging in Cuba; however, I was supported at all times. reliable internet is also given within the hotel and it has a fantastic gym. highlight is definitely the pool and the spacious rooms.
