Nestled in the hills above the Dry Creek Valley of Sonoma County, Madrona Manor is an exceptionally lovely Victorian estate surrounded by eight acres of wooded and landscaped grounds. The mansion, built in 1881, has been a destination for discerning guests seeking a stay in wine country since 1981. Madrona Manor offers a relaxing and private atmosphere, away from the hustle and bustle of town.

For 2 Michelin keys, we expected a bit more from what we experienced. We only stay at 5 star hotels and this one stood out to us because of the Michelin stars. But service, hospitality fell short of what a 5 star hotel should be. Rooms were uncomfortable, and was not thoughtfully designed or configured. The entire sitting area was wrapped in this very busy wallpaper including the ceiling . If you are having your guests feel relaxed and have tranquillity, it did'nt work. We booked a cottage one of the more expensive accomodation , not mentioned any where that there's not TV in the room, There is no place to hang your towels only 2 hooks which is for the robes. Coffee machine is hidden in a cabinet and the entire coffee making was not friendly. No room service. This is not a full service hotel, it felt like we went glamping. Snack that is for sale were expired.

The Madrona is a dream stay. The modern reimagining of this historic gem blends with the authentic charm of the property boldly (as the designer owner meant it to be) and seamlessly. The staff are kind, authentic, and on the ball. The food and beverage is divine. Truly, cannot recommend it more and only a stone's throw from Healdsburg center and the Dry Creek wine trail.

We've been very pleased with the restaurant over the past couple years, so when this place got 2 Michelin keys we decided to spend a night. Granted this was a low end room in the off season, but what a letdown! Honestly any facility with two keys is obliged to set and fastidiously hold a standard of hospitality regardless of room or season. We were astonished at how far they fell short. We got room 2 in the carriage house, and it does NOT convey much sense of luxury, taste or style. I appreciate eclectic (nicely done in the main house) and I believe that was what they had in mind, but they shot an air ball here in #2. The best part was the fireplace. The breakfast was also lower end, featuring dry mini croissants, some cheese and salami, a decent yogurt and fruit selection, and a cold nearly empty pot of coffee. Yikes. We decamped quickly for a much better bakery in town where the Madrona should but clearly didn't source their Viennoiserie. Madrona is NOT RECOMMENDED at this or even half price, and the Michelin folks will be contacted about their gross oversight.

I am writing to share our disappointment regarding our recent stay at this property. While we understand that this might be a low season and maintenance work may be underway, it does not justify the lack of hospitality and attention to guest experience during our visit. Firstly, the guest room we stayed (#2)in had several lighting issues. The bathroom light began flickering a minute after being turned on, and the bedside table lamp strangely turned on by itself at 9 a.m. Despite reporting these issues to your staff, we did not receive any follow-up or resolution during our stay. Additionally, the breakfast offered was far below the standard expected of a Michelin two-key hotel. The coffee was cold, and no staff were present to assist us. While it seemed to be a self-service setup, there were no warm options available, which further diminished the experience. To make matters worse, during breakfast, we noticed your staff cleaning the back room and the restroom nearby. The loud noises and the smell of cleaning products were very distracting and significantly impacted the atmosphere of our meal. We had higher expectations based on your hotel's reputation and were disappointed by the lack of basic attention to detail. We hope that you take this feedback seriously and work to improve the quality of your services to ensure a better experience for future guests.

Our experience at Madrona was exceptional. The room, decor, ambiance, food, service was all phenomenal and we had a 5 start experience at every turn. This is a little hidden gem in Sonoma County. The room did not have a TV but it had a fireplace and very special decor and details including heated bathroom floors. The entire place was warm and welcoming.
