Hotel Ranga

The booking and communication was very smooth. Staff was always helpful and gave us good tips for side trips. Breakfast veriety was good but could have been restocked better. Food order for dinner took longer then it should have.

What a wonderful place. The attention to detail was perfect. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The dining room served delicious food and the staff was attentive to all of our needs. One staff member even drove us to the Lava Center in her personal car when no drivers were available. It is a bit isolated, but we were always able to get where we needed. I highly recommend Hotel Ranga!

Very nice place overall--check in is especially attentive. The reason we came (and didn't benefit from as it rained all night) was to see the Northern Lights, and it is an OUTSTANDING place to see them--when you are outside of the building, you have about 160 degrees of sky in every direction--if the display is good, this is the place to see it! Will hopefully come back sometime and stay several days to increase my odds of success. Only concern is that the restaurant is only good, not in accord with everything else.

Great Hotel for seeing the Northern Lights! We had room 34, nice room, found the staff very friendly. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice. We stayed B & B, had a snack From the Bar menu, it was very good. This Hotel can wake you up when the Northern Lights appear, we stayed 3 nights, and saw them 3 times and that’s with cloud forecasted. We will return! Book via ‘Discover the World’,

It’s our second time in Iceland (previously stayed on the west coast). We stayed at the Hotel Ranga 2 nights in January ‘25, with snow still on the ground. It’s the perfect location for exploring the South coast and only a couple of hours drive from the airport. The breakfasts were generous (buffet included a hot dish, cooked to order). We dined both nights in their restaurant, which also attracted groups from outside. A fabulous dining experience (not “cheap”, but what is on this magnificent island, plus we believe you get what you pay for)! We recommend the scallops to start (had them both nights)! The team were super friendly and gave us great recommendations for our self-drive day trips. Our room overlooked the river with a shared hot tub nearby. Flip flops and dressing gowns provided for the quick dash to a pool of relaxing, warm water under the moon and stars. Soooo relaxing - it made our stay, thank you Hotel Ranga! We booked direct (no booking dot etc.. etc), and so received a complimentary bottle of wine in our room as thanks. Enjoy your stay. We shall definitely return.
