Sofitel Saigon Plaza

We stayed three nights with a tour. The room was small but elegant. The lighting was poor but the AC excellent. The lighting control at the bed did not turn off two overhead lights, so the master switch in the hall had to be used. The shower was in the tub with a plastic curtain, very old fashioned.

Second stay here in a year, so not too bad. Same issues present from last year, which is a shame as it is a nice place with a good location. Took a club room, they represent great value and the club lounge with afternoon team and cocktails are well worth it, staff there are attentive and communicate well. The only downside is that they require you to check in there and as with last time, it is slow. Takes around ten minutes per person, we had a group of four so process took around 40 minutes, which is way too long. Rooms are nice, bed quite comfy, nice pillows and AC is effective. There is a good centralized light control system and plus are international, nice touch. Breakfast a let down, recall this from before. The greeter was absent when I arrived so I wandered in and self seated, which means the initial coffee order gets missed and despite staff seeing me sit down, none ventured to offer coffee. Only when I tried to use the machine myself did this prompt someone to ask if i wanted a drink. Egg station is very good, super quick service and perfect poached eggs. Coffee a recurring issue, asked for a second one, waited a long time and that never arrived, so I just left. Croissants remain an issue, these are handed out from a tray by a mobile server, like gold dust. Must be something about my face as she attended to all the tables around me but didn’t ask me, despite waves and glances to attract her attention. All in all, the general service is ok, its the important things which seem minor in detail which would really elevate the stay, like efficient check in or access to coffee at breakfast.

I was delighted with this hotel - excellent service, very good food, a very comfortable room. My first time in Ho Chi Minh City, and the hotel made a great base for our stay. I would be very happy to come back and stay again, for work or leisure. Warmly recommended

We ate at the Le17 restaurant in the Sofitel Saigon Plaza Hotel. Food was delicious, more French than Vietnamese. Service and ambience were very good. Meal was leisurely, not rushed. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great place in Saigon!

Wonderful property, very nicely appointed and maintained. The food in both restaurants was delicious, service by Minh, Nhi, Bao and Tan was prompt and helpful. Help with food allergies was helpful and accurate. Help with understanding the language differences was also appreciated.
