Great hotel in Hollywood. We only stayed one night but would stay here again. Everything is new and clean, although could use thicker pillows. The staff was very helpful and nice. The rooftop pool and 5pm happy hour was great before we left for dinner.

Fantastic experience overall. Was surprised by how quiet the property was - great sleep quality. Room was available before official check in time. Bathroom was very small and room wasn’t huge but served our purposes. Globalist breakfast is one of the more stingy ones that I’ve come across with quite overpriced items and relatively low limits, and the hotel pursues overages from guests. Service is a bit mixed. Service at the lobby bar was consistently very good. I was working from the room for a day and the set up was not conducive to that with no desk or even a table. Thank goodness it was just a day. Another small disappointment is that Mother Wolf shows as a restaurant of the hotel but it’s independent and you can’t charge to the hotel room. Despite the disappointments, I would stay again and recommend the hotel. The front desk was very kind at check in and consistently pleasant about questions throughout the stay.

We had the best time mid day at the rooftop pool bar with Allen! He was super personable, kind, and made us some incredibly unique cocktails - legit all were 10/10 and flavor combinations I’d never tried before. Such good vibes and overall the best experience. Can’t wait to come back and try another one of his drinks 🫶

I was very reluctant to stay at this property, having read the reviews about noise. I was pleasantly surprised though at how clean and serene the Thompson Hollywood is, but there are a few things that push it far down the rating scale: 1). Room Service. It's not done daily. Only Nespresso pods are replaced. Not enough towels either. 2). No desk in room, which is annoying for those who want to work. 3). I was charged for using the mini bar for which I did not. The front desk wouldn't reverse the charge and said it would be handled by their "dispute" team and I would be notified. I had to catch a flight out of LAX early and didn't have time to argue. On the last point, it was a dealbreaker. For this reason alone, this property isn't up to scratch and I'll consider staying somewhere else. Why? Housekeeping did come to add some Nepresso pods, but left the mini bar door slightly open, so the source of the erroneous charge, I believe, sits there and the way the front desk handled it was not right. I doubt I will stay here again.

Thompson has always been solid in LA, with a good location, top flight rooftop and nice modern rooms with gorgeous views. This past trip the service also excelled making this a true gem in Hollywood. What could sometimes be indifferent staff in the “I’m really an actor” vein is now polished and gracious, from greeting on arrival to daily housekeeping (thanks Carmen!). Stay here if you’re in town.
