There is a reason why the hotel is called “House”: because it feels like home. The staff is very kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. The rooms are absolutely huge and I don’t think I will ever bath with such view! The location is spectacular and it seems everything is either walking distance or a quick uber ride away. Not only I am already missing Hong Kong but also The Upper House! Will definitely come back!

I can’t quite recall when my first stay at The Upper House was—perhaps 2013 or 2014? But since then, I’ve returned whenever I could. Born and raised in Hong Kong, I left after completing my studies at CUHK in the ’70s. Over the years, I had the privilege of staying at many five-star luxury hotels in HK during business trips. However, after retirement, The Upper House has been my home whenever I visit family in Hong Kong. This time, I stayed with my son and his family after our trip to Europe. For my grandchildren, The Upper House is Hong Kong. They have been visiting since birth, and while traveling before our arrival, they kept asking if the next city was Hong Kong—they simply couldn’t wait to stay here again. It speaks volumes when even the little ones eagerly anticipate their stay! The level of care at The Upper House is extraordinary. Since developing an MSG allergy last year (including sensitivities to naturally occurring MSG in certain foods), I was touched by the attention to detail during breakfast. The staff carefully reconfirmed my dietary preferences, ensuring I had plenty of delicious options. The team also remembered my preferences from past visits—even down to stocking my favorite soy milk in the fridge. The way they keep such meticulous records to tailor each guest’s experience is simply amazing. It’s a true team effort to provide comfort at every level. Dining at Salisterra on Level 49 was another highlight. The breathtaking night view of Hong Kong made our already wonderful meal even more enjoyable. Despite it being over a decade since my first stay, everything still feels as pristine and fresh as ever—along with thoughtful new touches. The Chinese New Year candy box placed at the bar on the ground floor was such a warm and festive gesture. Though I may not visit as frequently as before, The Upper House remains my only choice whenever I return to Hong Kong. It is a place where I can truly relax, be pampered, and feel at home. I must also extend my heartfelt thanks to Edward, the Director of Guest Experience, whom I have known since my first stay. His attentiveness, enthusiasm, and genuine warmth make a lasting impression. Kristina has also been incredibly friendly and helpful in so many ways. Thank you all to your beautiful gifts and snacks during our stay. Until next time!

The Upper House is the best hotel we’ve ever stayed at. Lots of positives. We love the rooms - large rooms with a minimalist Scandinavian design. It has a small but well equipped gym (new Technogym machines and good weights) and a terrific restaurant. A convenient location in Admiralty which is right next to Pacific Place and easy to get to the MTR, trams or buses. We had the breakfast included this time – amazing views of the harbour and a range of set menus - it almost feels like a generous breakfast buffet but instead it all gets brought to you and is of excellent quality. The coffee is really good too. But what really makes it special is the service. The staff remember every detail from past stays, whether it’s your preferred number of face towels or the drinks you like in the complimentary minibar. Last time we asked for an extra lamp in the room and so when we checked in, they had an extra lamp already there. They greet you by your name every time you walk by reception. At breakfast, we asked for caramel sauce—they didn’t have any, so the kitchen made it from scratch. Another day, we requested chrysanthemum tea at breakfast which they didn’t have on the menu – the next morning, they had gotten some in and brought it out without us even asking! I could go on and on. It’s the personalised service that really separates a luxury experience. If I had a minor quibble, it'd be the lack of a pool on-site. I think there's an arrangement so that you can use the pool at another hotel. Really one of the finest luxury hotel experiences you can think of. I couldn’t recommend it more.

The Upper House is such an incredible property. The views are amazing. The rooms are huge for Hong Kong standards and they’re so stylish and well appointed. Every little convenience has been thought of and provided. In room filtered water on tap. Toiletries for the little ones. Yoga mats. All the things you wish you had are there. Then there’s the amazing service. Do you need an extra light? Makeup mirror? No problems. In your room when you get back from your outing. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The Upper house drivers are friendly and knowledgeable. The housekeeping staff are kind. All the staff from the top down clearly have great pride and joy in working at the Upper House and it clearly shows. Staying at the Upper House truly feels like a return home which is an incredible experience after weeks on the road. I would never stay anywhere else in Hong Kong. I am an absolutely devoted fan. Many thanks to Kristina and Edward for their wonderful leadership and making every one of our stays much treasured memories.
