A wonderful island of serenity in busy Waikiki. Simply the best service and staff in every aspect of the hotel (rooms, pool, restaurants, bellmen, laundry, etc). Polite, friendly and helpful in everything. Concierge provided excellent advice on activities which were unique and special. The restaurants are exceptional. We particularly enjoyed Orchids which has a wonderful menu and superb service. The morning breakfast buffet is also outstanding. In general, the service in the restaurants is on par with the finest restaurants and hotels in Paris, NY or Tokyo. Lewres Lounge was a throw back to a Humphrey Bogart movie - charming and sophisticated. They had an excellent jazz twosome most nights we were there which was highly enjoyable. Certainly, it’s an expensive place to stay but you absolutely feel like you’re getting what you paid for. After a day sightseeing or the beach, walking back into the open air lobbies of Halekulani is like floating on air. It’s just wonderful.

Service is excellent. Very refined. Food is excellent. The hotel is family owned and it shows. I will compare very favorably to the Marriott Royal Hawaiian, which is run by a large corporation and is far inferior. At the Halekulani you can actually get seats by the pool and they don’t try to buckle and dine you (although boat resorts are high priced). Basically, Marriott stinks in comparison

Our family enjoyed the perfect short vacation at Halekulani Resort located in the middle of crowded beach of Waikiki. Excellent accommodation and services. The experience was incredible. We highly recommend this resort as a choice for vacationing in Oahu.

We are a local Hawaii couple and stayed at Halekulani to celebrate my 60th birthday. The hotel - staff, accommodations, service - exceeded our expectations for our trip. We arrived to find a chilled bottle of exquisite champagne in our room to begin our weekend of celebration. Our room was beautifully decorated and the staff were a delight to interact with! We enjoyed a special couples massage and had a fabulous spa experience as well. We look forward to returning!

The hotel is gorgeous, the food is quite good, and the pool is charming. The owners seem to have minimized some capital expenditures, however, as the bathroom fixtures were old and the shower smelled of mold. Aside from that, our overall experience was quite good, and we would return, but for the bathrooms. Management needs to refresh some of the bathroom fixtures and replace the 40 year old, mold-smelling tilework.

We just returned from five nights at the Halekulani in Honolulu and it was incredible. The hotel, food, service and staff were wonderful… From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed, the staff could not do enough for us.

I have traveled to the Hawaiian islands many times and stayed in fine hotels on five Hawaiian islands, but never in all my experience have I encountered such remarkable guest service, hospitality, warmth, and consistent excellence that at Halekulani. At all times, guests are greeted by name by everyone. Any guest request or preference is accommodated immediately, and noted for the future. We were treated like celebrities... This hotel, from start to finish, is simply a class act.

We are accustomed to staying in luxury accommodations, yet the beauty of the Halekulani hotel was breathtaking. We were stunned by the warm, outstanding service. No effort was too great to assure our comfort!! Our every desire was satisfied. We were positively delighted by the romance and perfection of La Mer restaurant and the outrageous pampering spa services we received.

My wife and I this past December, 2004, stayed at the Halekulani Hotel in Hawaii. The trip was wonderful. The hotel was beautiful and serene, and the service at the hotel was unlike any we have experienced. I would recommend this trip to anyone.
