Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort

The Outrigger Reef Hotel in Honolulu is well-located and functional, but there are areas where it falls short of expectations for a four-star property. While the hotel has been renovated, it’s clear that the property is older, as some of the design and layout feel dated. The bathtubs and tapware, in particular, could use updating. On the positive side, the beds were very comfortable, and the room sizes were good, although the views weren’t great, as they looked over the next block. Corridor noise was also noticeable in the room, which suggests the soundproofing isn’t up to modern standards. The Club breakfast was decent but a bit basic—I would have liked to see more variety in the options provided. Overall, it’s a functional property with a great location, but it could benefit from more attention to detail to meet the expectations of today’s travelers.

First time staying here but not the last. I was so impressed with the locations, the staff, the room and the amenities. The icing on the cake is Auana the Cirque de Soleil show right on property. It is a must for anyone visiting Honolulu. This hotel is a gem.

We stayed at the Outrigger Reef on Waikiki for 3 glorious weeks ! This hotel has excellent customer service from Rosalina who cleaned our room daily, always friendly and smiling to the front desk staff, bellhops, waiters and any other staff you ran into they always wished you a good day. The place is spotless, rooms are renovated with comfortable beds and pillows. This was my first time staying in Waikiki and would definitely stay here again. It’s a beautiful resort, right on the beach, would totally recommend to friends and family !

I wanted to specifically mention the houseman, John Diaz. Every time I ran into him in the hallway, he politely addressed me by my name (I’m not even sure how he knew my name!) He was gracious and authentic and a wonderful example of Aloha spirit and hospitality. Outrigger Reef Waikīkī is a fantastic hotel and they are truly lucky to have John on their team!

The staff is amazing and very friendly. Jenny cleaned our room and it was always spotless. Everyone was very helpful and the pool and beach access was great. It’s a central location and easy to walk everywhere. The bar that is pool side as well as the monkey pod are great places to grab a drink and a bite to eat.
