Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort

The Outrigger Resort is in a fantastic location if you want to be right in the middle of the Waikiki strip. As soon as you step out of the resort, you’re surrounded by shops, restaurants, and lots of people—perfect if you enjoy a lively, bustling atmosphere. The staff was friendly, and the service was good overall. However, the hotel itself feels a bit old and worn down. The rooms are outdated and could use a deep clean—they were quite dusty during our stay. We traveled with kids, and while it was nice being on the beach, we ended up going to the beach at the beginning of the Waikiki strip, near the Outrigger Reef and Hilton. Those beaches were much better—cleaner, wider, and more family-friendly. If you’re looking for a lively location and don’t mind the crowds, this is a good choice. However, if you prefer a nicer beach experience, especially with kids, I’d recommend staying closer to the start of the strip.

I highly recommend this hotel because the staff was above and beyond! Ricky was so helpful, kind and would go out of his way for excellent service! He is an exceptional employee. He made us feel like ohana! Another favorite was Sai Z! She was THE best for housekeeping! I looked forward to our morning greetings and my room was ALWAYS in excellent condition, even after my messy toddlers, she had it cleaned to perfection! Not a crumb or grain of sand to be found. I will be asking for her floor at my next stay. Cherwin was amazing and fun! We would look forward to the activities with him and made sure to know what days he was at this location. Peter was fantastic at the pool! We always looked forward to the days he was working. He always greeted us and would genuinely ask about our day. Gigi had excellent service in the voyager 47 club. Definitely recommend joining the club! She was personable and friendly! Overall, staff made this the best 2 week stay. All the employees mentioned above deserve a shout out. They all took time to get to know us by name and say hi to our kids. There are many beach front hotels, but what makes this one exceptional, is the outstanding staff.

We have returned to the Outrigger Waikiki Resort multiple times per year for more than 20 years and would highly recommend this hotel for the central Waikiki location, beautiful views and access directly on the beach, "Barefoot Beach" atmosphere at Dukes and all of the great staff at Outrigger, Dukes and Hula Grille which have taken great care of us on every stay!

The Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort is our ‘go to’ hotel when we go to Honolulu Hawaii. The oceanfront views are amazing, rooms are comfortable, the friendly and accommodating staff, the daily live band music, the variety of shops and eats in the hotel, valet service… the list goes on! When researching where to stay I saw so many great reviews about the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort. Everyone who works at the hotel are very helpful and caring and made sure our stay was perfect. Having great restaurants,shops, the pool and the beach right outside your hotel made it the ideal place to stay! When you walked out to the front of the hotel you were where there are shops and the International Market across the street with many restaurants and stores! The rooms are clean and they also gave you beach bag and a water bottle! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay
