Dubbed the “Pink Palace of the Pacific” The Royal Hawaiian is a 1920’s Spanish-Moorish-style beauty occupying a prime stretch of famed Waikiki Beach on the same spot that once was home to Queen Kaahumanu’s summer palace. The excellent beachfront locale affords private beach access and makes for enviable Ocean views from this iconic Honolulu property. 528 bright rooms and suites blend historic Pacific Islander ambience and of-the-moment décor: dark wood furnishings, nostalgic woven ceiling fan blades and intricately textured gold-and-fuchsia hued floral wallpaper reigns opposite a soothing cream-color palette. 21st century creature comforts such as wide-screen LCD televisions, iPod compatible CD/radio alarm clocks, high-speed Internet access, refrigerators, and laptop-size in-room safes come standard while bathrooms feature high-end complimentary toiletries.

Nice hotel overall. 5 star gardens but 4 star rooms, the room which I reserved for five days at Christmas looked very tired. By the way, the hotel charges $100 a day for the hire of an umbrella and two sun loungers on the beach and some people do pay it.

We stayed here over Christmas. The hotel was wonderfully decorated and safe were lovely. Check in was ok, longer then expected and they froze over $1500 USD for 7 nights on our credit cards. Rooms for 2 adults and 2 children were fine. The beds were quite small for 2 adults. There was a lovely balcony in our room included a lounge. There was a full bathroom with a bath, robes and Japanese toilets. All amenities you required or expected. Coffee and jug station and had a fridge. There is a ABC at most corner so we stocked up for the kids. Make sure you get cutlery. There is no room service. Christmas dinner was 3 course and ok, service was excellent. Breakfast is a LONG wait, Keenan and Elaine were amazing and accommodating however it was always + 30 mins. In the end we ordered take away and it was super quick. The food was excellent! Highly recommend the Acai and fruit. If you dont have meals included there are cafes etc everywhere. Pool at RH is small, next-door you can use has slides etc. The beach was super crowded you can purchase lounges for approximately $100 US a day. Towels provided and they have sunscreen stations and refillable water everywhere

We stopped in Hawaii on the way back from Sydney. We choose the Royal hawaiian because of location and 5 stars We went to order room service and they told us Management decided to cut it out during covid and never brought it back because of cost?? MESSAGE MANAGEMENT COVID IS OVER. This is just a cheap cost cutting idea somewhere that needs to change. I will protest by not returning I honestly wish their was a standard to be able to clean 3 star/ 4 star/ 5 star Basically False advertising

This has got to be one of the worst "I don't care about the customer" attitude Hotels in Hawaii. On December 31, 2024. Went breakfast early 0630 because I was hungry. It took 15 minutes to get seated. The I gave the waitress my order. After 45 minutes of waiting I still had no food. In the mean I still had to beg to get refills of coffee. One hour went by talked to the manager. Still no food. Got up and walked out. This company is going to hell. I'm even a loyal member. I ask myself WHY? I was so damn mad at these people I couldn't even eat. This is how they treat their loyal members.

I recently stayed at this hotel, and overall, it was a wonderful experience. The location is stunning—right on the oceanfront, with breathtaking views and easy access to shopping center and restaurant . It’s a peaceful and beautiful place to relax and explore, with everything within walking distance. However, the service didn’t quite meet the standards of a 5-star hotel. I had one unfortunate experience at the Maitai bar that left a bad impression. The sign at the entrance said, “Please seat yourself at an unoccupied table,” so we did. However, one of the sever her name was Jamxx came over and started yelling at us, saying, “This is a dirty table! You’re not supposed to sit here!” Instead of calmly addressing the situation or helping us by cleaning the table, the server’s tone was unprofessional and rude, We were very embarrassed. This was very disappointing, we didn’t go back the maitai bar after that experience

I have now stayed at the Royal Hawaiian three times with Luxury Link packages and have never been disappointed! The staff are all courteous and friendly—some have been there for over 30 years!—and the quality of the service is exceptional. Arranging dates and package events was handled very professionally and helpfully by the hotel staff in person and via email. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a serene, graceful and extremely scenic stay right on Waikiki Beach!
