I have stayed at the Waikiki Beachcomber 5 times over the past 10 years, unfortunately during my stay this time I noticed a decline in service and amenities. Value for money was not good, there seems to be alot of cost cutting but does not reflect the price per night. Hotel: On check in we were provided limited information about the hotel. The hotel appears to be focused on the Cirque du soleil show, avoid the lobby area during the Cirque du soleil show, it is very busy and unpleasant. Location: The one positive about this hotel is the location. It's located in a central location, walking distance to restaurants, bars, beach and main bus stops. Breakfast: We received breakfast vouchers for the Hawaiian Aroma Caffe which is located near the lobby of the hotel. The cafe now has a voucher program breakfast menu, with limited options and there is an additional $6 cost if you want to upgrade your selection by ordering an item not on the voucher program breakfast menu. The voucher program breakfast menu has recently been introduced. Previously you were able to order acai bowls with the voucher. The options on the restricted breakfast menu are limited and underwhelming. I would definitely not pay the additional charge for breakfast when booking at the Beachcomber. It is better value to just order what you actually want on the general menu during your stay. Room: The cleanliness of the room was below par, there were hairs from previous guests in the shower. Amenities are very limited. The shower gel, conditioner and shampoo bottles are attached to the wall in the shower. However, there is no shower cap, vanity kit or slippers available. When we asked house keeping for a shower cap, we were advised that they don't have shower caps for guests. The bath towels were also like sand paper and were very thin. Resort fees are exuberant. The resort fees include things that are usually included in any hotel (tea and coffee, wi fi, beach towels and access to the pool) or unecessary items (digital album and drawstring bag), not worth the exuberant amount of $47 usd daily (including taxes). We were very disappointed with our stay.

Hi, just wanted give a big shout out to James Speight, our Amazing helpful concierge, our family had an amazing experience at this hotel. Loved the friendly helpful staff. The room was great for the four of us. Very friendly and helpful room attendants. Gave us extra coffee and quickly sorted out issues with the ice machine on our floor. Yes ice is needed for drinks when on holiday. LOL. Was nice to sit on the balcony in the mornings. Got glimpses of the ocean and the mountains. The location is excellent. Across the road from the beach and places to stock up. with food and drinks are just a small walk away. Restaurants and shopping are just at the bottom of the escalators. Couldn’t have picked a better location. James helped our family with different tour options and very much included the kids. I found James very polite, Funny and engaging, James went above and beyond to sort out our holiday adventures. I would totally recommend this hotel and Make sure you visit James for your personalised adventure experience, he really was amazing. He even organised postage of items back to Australia on our behalf, what more could you ask for. The Watts Family

This hotel was only ok. I don’t get the rave reviews. No special services for the resort fee- a small but crowded pool even in the off season. Not beach adjacent- don’t confuse this with its sister hotel closer to the water. Room was fine, felt like we overpaid for deluxe ocean view— hotels blocked most of view and rooftop fans roared making the balcony unpleasant.

We thoroughly enjoyed everything about our stay at the Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber at the end of January. Our travel agent recommended this location after staying there himself on many occasions, and now we know why! The room was spacious, very clean, comfortable bed, AMAZING and helpful staff. The restaurants were wonderful and we enjoyed a couple of meals/drinks at the Maui Brewing Co. The pool area was a perfect space to enjoy on the one day our schedule allowed. Michael at the front desk was a true delight to deal with, especially when we required a late check out and eventually an extra night when our flight was cancelled (due to storms on January 30th).

Kristina was so helpful and accommodating. The room was perfect for our family with a balcony and ocean view. Wonderful waking up to the sunrises 🌅 . Aroma cafe had a yummy breakfast and the pool was great for the kids. The hot tub is very large and never felt crowded.
