Ka La'i Waikiki Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts

Wrapping up a one night stay before heading to another island. This hotel is perfect. Excellent service and the location is prime. One block from the beach, and one block to all the best shopping and restaurants. The rooms are unexpectedly large for Honolulu and the beds are super comfy. The rooms have a fully stocked kitchen. Small pool but did I mention Waikiki Beach is one block away? Book this.

We have stayed at many AMEX FHR hotels and this one tops them all. The resort offers many generous gifts including an arrival treat (toffee & Italian Prosecco), travel water bottles, room upgrade, and f&b credit. The restaurant menu can be little price but the quality and service is there to support it. The happy hour is solid, with generous portions at reasonable prices. 2 adult breakfast buffets were included (valued at $50 each) and had solid, quality options. We had 2 kids under 12 for an additional $19 each for the Buffett. We didn’t use the galley kitchen but it seemed very well stocked if you wanted to cook-in. I’d like to thank the management at this hotel. You can tell a very well run hotel by the way the employees have a true interest in their guests instead of forced interactions. Nothing fake like other resorts - Ka La’i was very genuine and on point. Many of the employees anticipate your next need before you even ask. We also loved the concierge at the ground floor helping with surf boards and floats for the kids - even a bag full of towels. The fact this hotel is not ocean front is quickly make up for with these complementary amenities. I think they also offered chairs, too. The public beach is a short 1-block walk and is not busy at all. Please note - all beaches in Waikiki are public so there isn’t a huge advantage in booking a beach front hotel. While my stay at the hotel is not until this July I feel like the pre arrival service definitely warrants a 5 star review (especially in light of the pains I am going through dealing with our hotel in Ko Olina just to get the confirmation number for our upcoming stay). I received a welcome message from Lily very shortly after making my reservation, you could feel Lily’s warmth and caring just through typed words. They confirmed my request to make the sofa bed and add a crib while asking for my children’s names and ages. They also inquired on my arrival time and whether I was celebrating anything (in addition to adding my friends name to the second reservation I made). Anticipation is a very important and fun part of the vacation experience and this hotel has me excited to arrive and feeling confident we will be well taken care of. Looking forward to seeing you in the summer!

My wife and I visited to celebrate her 62nd birthday We enjoyed five nights of understated perfection. Understated because nothing was pressed upon you, yet at every turn, we felt pampered and cared for. At check in, we discovered we were upgraded to a higher floor ocean front room. As well, for a reasonable upgrade cost, we could have selected a one bedroom suite with a den and double patio. In the end, we chose the standard ocean view and were thrilled. The room was spacious including a luxury kitchen, full bath, balcony and commanding views of the ocean. We enjoyed beautiful views of sunsets and captures many rainbows. The hotels location is ideal. Neat restaurants, bars and activities. Breakfast and dinner were outstanding with beautiful environment and excellent service. Ironically, we found our favorite meals were room service in our room and we watched the evenings slip away from our balcony. We could not recommend this hotel more. Thank you!

My husband and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Ka La’i Waikiki and I cannot express enough how fantastic our experience was, mainly because of their outstanding staff and impeccable service plus the hotel is centrally located and just a 2-minute walk from the beach. From the moment we walked through the doors, we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine sense of hospitality by Aaron at valet and team. The front desk staff were extremely welcoming and ensured our check-in process was smooth and stress-free. There was a bit of a hiccup with our first room and the manager Ling Ling went above and beyond to take care of the issue and even walk through and thoroughly inspected the next room for us. The housekeeping staff, checked in on us all the time to make sure we have everything we need for a comfortable stay and we always came back to an immaculately cleaned room, which was very important to me as I have horrible allergies. The service throughout the hotel was exemplary. It’s evident that the staff is well-trained and committed to providing guests with an exceptional experience. This hotel’s management deserves special mention for their attentiveness to the needs of guests. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a stress free and memorable stay!
