Omni Houston Hotel

Nice lobby and restaurant. Rooms were very old and outdated. Hotel staff was luke warm. Food was actually really good. I would not recommend staying here if there are other options in the area. I like the Omni brand typically and was considering switching from Marriott, but need more consistency across hotels.

The common spaces were very nice, refreshed, and modern. Restaurant was very good for breakfast and great service. Bar, although a bit small, was very good. Bell and valet service was very good. The rooms, however, are incredibly tired and in need of renovation. My room was so dark -- especially the bathroom -- and the toilet was so low to the ground it was difficult to reach. Shower/Tub was old and tired. Room AC stopped cooling in the middle of the night and it was hot. I won't stay there again unless they complete a full room renovation.

My friends and I stayed at this hotel for an extended birthday celebration, and it was a lovely experience. They thoughtfully surprised my friend with a small cake for her birthday, which was a nice touch. The room was clean and well-presented, with a properly functioning AC. The pool was decent, and the staff were courteous and professional throughout our stay. The parking space was spacious, which made things convenient. Overall, I’d definitely stay here again in the future.

Overall the hotel is nice, however it is a bit dated. Pros: great customer service, friendly staff, hotel has a nice pool, restaurant and bar area. The hotel has free shuttle service within a three mile radius which was nice. Cons: rooms were outdated, dark, the food in the restaurant was not good. My coffee and food both were served cold. No refrigerator in the hotel rooms. I’ve stayed at several Omni Hotels and this one by far needs some help for sure.

I had high expectations, but I was unfortunately disappointed with my stay. The room I stayed in (deluxe king) is in need of a remodel/significant work. The paint on the bathroom door was flaking off, the mirror had brown/broken sections, and worst of all I realized the air vent blowing air conditioning had mold growing inside of it on the morning of checkout. I thought my allergies were acting up over the weekend, but I suspect this contributed to my symptoms.
