Thompson Houston

Cedric went above and beyond to help me while I was in Houston. Customer service was through the roof!!!! The Thompson is lucky to have him. When I am in Houston I will be looking for Cedric!!!!. Great Customer Service is really a prize. Thank you so much Cedric!!!!

Nice property with exemplary service. The amenities-rich rooms are comfortable and spacious. Suites have bathtubs while regular rooms do not. However, the regular rooms have spacious shower stalls that make it very easy to wash little kids. Keep in mind, this is not a kid-friendly property; but, when traveling with my youngest, I need the high touch service that premium properties have to offer: valet, bell staff, in-room dining and turndown service. The Thompson performed well in all aspects with the exception of food and beverage which is currently in transition and struggling a bit. The company that manages the hotel restaurant is currently turning over management of Sol (the breakfast and casual dining restaurant) to the hotel while standing up a new fine dining restaurant on the 1st floor that will feature French cuisine. If you eat at this hotel before March, bring your patience and prepare to offer plenty of grace. They are having a very tough go of it with the transition. Expect extremely uneven food and beverage service whether one is dining in the restaurant or ordering in-room dining. We were staying at the hotel to honor a relative’s birthday and when the guest of honor arrived, things nearly went off the rails as the hotel was not prepared to receive them. Thankfully, Rosie and Ben got things back on track, got their room decorated and provided some nice guest amenities to make up for the mixup. The weekend was a success and the birthday honoree love the room and hospitality. Although we had a rental car, and didn’t need the services of a driver, we did get to meet Cedric the acclaimed hotel driver of TripAdvisor fame. He is definitely a great ambassador for Thompson Houston and loves the job.

Wonderful Stay! Very nice accommodations, new and modern. Extremely clean! Excellent, large shower with great pressure. Loved the little area of the bathroom where I could put my makeup on with the light up full mirror. Very comfortable bed. The staff all were extremely friendly and kind. I most enjoyed the free drop off ride service- saved me some uber ride costs! Cedric dropped me off each morning of my stay, and was so warm and friendly! He provided lots of excellent food recommendations too! If I am in Houston again, will definitely plan to stay again. Would also recommend staying here if you are going anywhere downtown, esp the convention center!

Beautiful, modern hotel with excellent service. Great views of downtown Houston from the gym, pool and my room. Their restaurant had excellent food, cocktails and staff. The best part though may have been the incredible female vocalist who performed on Valentine’s evening. Special thank you to Cedric for his kindness.

I have stayed at this Thompson a few times but this has been thee best experience. I brought my mom here for valentine's because she was alone at home and my dad was out of town. I was able to work with Yolanda that made the experience amazing for her. From start to finish so much attention to detail and amazing hospitality. This is a brand new hotel so amenities are really nice. They have a gym but also can get a day pass across the street and go for down the trail. This will be my go to hotel for staycations and having guest come to Houston. Thank you Yolanda!
