The resort was inspired by the seaside Summer Palace, Mrigadayawan, built by King Rama VI. Nice and clean hotel, the view on the beach is amazing and the pool is great. Included the tickets for the waterpark! The chief concierge Jane was very helpful and gave a lot of tips about the hotel and the next destination Bangkok. Would definitely recommend this hotel, amazing and respectful staff!

Intercontinental Huahin is my favorite hotel in Huahin even though I do hop around other pet friendly hotel for a change of enviroment or if friends choose another hotel. Everything in this hotel is just excellent and it just get better. Been visiting this hotel since 2020 and just love the staff and fullout warm service they have provide. Big thank you to Khun Nancy for her attentive service and helping with our family reservations always! We also love the deco of the Bluport Wing which pet friendly hotel and has dog pool, big garden and dog cafe. Recently checked in this week and was so touched when we were welcome with my lil doggy belated birthday surprise!! This is our 3rd year celebrating our furry friend birthday and is not doubt the best! Location is amazing which is connected to Bluport Mall, we love the sumptuous breakfast, and the vibrant taste of food at Azure restaurant ! Don’t miss out on the prawn cocktail! Can’t wait to be back and many thanks to Khun Nancy, Khun Moo, Khun Pear, Khun Job, Khun Montien, Khun S for making my holiday like feels like Huahin HOME!!

This time, we have chosen to try their newly renovated what used to be pool access rooms now turned into King Club Private Pool Suite. We were here also because of the new kiddy addition they added, and that is the miniature train that goes around part of the resort on the Beach Wing. It was endless fun. You can certainly clock a thousand miles on this continuously till your kid falls overboard or train derails. The train operates between 10 am to 11.30 am in the morning and 1 pm to 6 pm in the afternoon. It is complimentary. We were told they also have special ride sessions for pets. The engineer will stop the train at the most scenic spot mid center of the courtyard for us guests to take a hundred photos till our phones ran out of memory. We were also delighted that now they have a full load of activities at Planet Trekkers Kids Club compared to 2 years ago when we were here. That kept the children on this long weekend fully occupied while mummies and daddies could finally take a break from full-time parenting. What was even more pleasant was that all the activities our child partook were free. It seemed that none of the activities required payment. I met Sabrina during breakfast, she’s the new manager of this extensive resort. She shared with me future plans of making this resort even more family oriented with new programs and amenities. I shall be back with my kid. With additions to the resort, also comes some reductions. What was most disheartening of all in our stay was that the heated jacuzzi in the middle of their pools was no more. We were so looking forward to it, but when I stepped into the water it was cold. I asked the pool boy doing his towel run what happened to the heated water. He told me the heating system broke down, and so they decided not to repair it. This heated feature will no longer be available from then on. How sad. See, during the months of rain, and in the end of year, the pools can be frigid for some of us Asian folks. Imagine this, it has been raining for several days and the unusually cool breeze is on. Then you soak in the warm bubbly pool under dark clouds and just enjoy as you watch the raindrops fall. Aside from the slight chance of being struck by lightning, it is really quite enjoyable as I have tried on my previous trip here. The bubbling feature on the sides of the main pool between the pavilions has also now been taken away. Those were pretty things to look at and listen to as one laze on the sundeck chairs. The big fireplace set on the beach front that added an attractive tungsten glow to the dark night, well that’s gone too. Breakfast here, I don’t remember any inadequacies from 2 years ago. But this recent visit, the bacon was like your grandma’s dentures destroyers. Have they even tried eating their own bacon to realize how tough and chewy they are? Then there was the congee and boiled rice. They were not hot at all when I scooped them from their pots. The reception seemed a bit tied down. They never reverted back to us with a phone call. They said they would get back after checking with the kids’ club if vacancies were still available for one of the activities we sought. Dinner at Pirom at 7.30pm, we sat unattended for a long time, and we had to go to the opposite section to get the staff to order our food. And they did not even ask what drinks we wanted. So, I headed back to my room to get our bottled water. They must have been really bogged down, I guess. There was one more thing. I was at breakfast at 6.30am when there was nobody. A bird was perching on the honeycomb in the open-air area where the bakery stuff was served. Though it looked cute as bird was having the time of its life enjoying the sweet honey without a bother to the world, I dare not have the honey on my pancakes. On the flip side of the coin, there were some great encounters. Having the IHG Milestone Rewards for Club Access was great. We enjoyed the best of services at the club lounge. All the staff there were very attentive right from check-in till check-out. The burger at Azure we had for lunch was excellent (proven by my kid finishing it all, kids are fussy eaters). When lazing at the pool, someone bought me water even though I did not ask for it. Well, alas, it only happened once thanks to one of their very nice pool staff. Nok at breakfast was fantastic. She cleared my empty plate as soon as I was done to reduce the clutter. And she asked if my coffee needed refilling as soon as I emptied my cup. When my wife and kid came to join me for breakfast, Nok brought additional utensils to our table before we could even ask. I was also impressed that they did listen to our comment a day earlier. They had the congee and boiled rice warmed by fire on our second day of breakfast. We also love that the egg station did Asian portions of omelette and scrambled eggs. Other hotels are like one order of egg seemed to cater to the whole family or a very big man. Our room, King Club Private Pool Suite. We used the Ambassador Weekend Night on it. 2 nights, Saturday till Monday. The suite was smaller than the Club Hua Hin Suite we got upgraded to 2 years ago. The upside is that you get pool access. This suite is slightly different from its pre-renovation days. Back then, there was no divider that compartmentalizes the strip of pool in front of the units. Also, it was lower down the range class and therefore not as expensive from the standard room types as it is now. The added separator is like a fancy fence of sorts which allows you to peek through to both ends of the pool. It’s kind of an added privacy and yet no privacy. The tall shrubs running parallel to the pool serve to deliver more isolation. There were two units above us, we could see guests in their balconies, they could see us in our pool. The cordoned pool space is like a generously sized plunge pool. It is good for children to swim around and not drift away into an unsupervised line of sight. Our unit happens to have an island feature with a tall tree. So, I got to play pirate island with my kid. Diving into the pool is not allowed, because you will dive into the tree. Everything is new, nice and working in our room as expected. As always with InterContinental, a very luxurious marble cladded bathroom. There is an oval bathtub within. Got a classy Harmon Kardon dome transparent thingy in room. USB sockets are built into the sides of bed for charging, an added convenience. Strange, no working desk. They want you to enjoy your time here, not work. All my stays at the InterContinental chain have always been good. And yes, we had a good family time here.

We have a nice stay here. Staffs are very friendly especially K.Pat, the front staff. Hotel is nice, breakfast is delicious. There are also many activities for family to attend. However there is bad smell of horse piss at the beachfront. There are a lot of mosquitoes at night but I think that is kinda normal for Thailand
