Quinta Real Huatulco

Quinta Real is a unique hotel with a marvelous view and rooms, service and food. The ocean and the beach are wonderful

Wife and I had a quiet 3 days at this property. Looks impressive up on the hill. Lots of stairs as everyone has mentioned. They will offer to drive you back up from the bottom if you don't want the exercise. Margaritas were done very well. Music at the pool is spotty. Beach is very nice. If you walk down to the other side of the bay, the water is even more calm for swimming. Our room was large, with a balcony and hammock. Never really used the balcony as it was just too hot. The staff was nice and always accommodating. You can tell that there has not been any significant work done to this hotel for quite some time. Lots of little things like peeling paint, cracked or broken cement/stucco, pool tiles missing, dead plants/trees. You would expect more from one of the area's top tier hotels. Food was average and probably 2X the cost as if you went to the town or the Quinta Bella to eat. The two restaurants are not always both open at the same time. If you want lunch, you need to walk down to the bottom/pool side restaurant. Breakfast and dinner is served at the top level restaurant. Not that big of a deal, but it is often 90 degrees and walking all the stairs to have a meal can leave you drenched. Overall, the area or hotel did not live up to our expectations. We would probably not return.

I would recommend this hotel to those looking for a quiet, relaxed stay. We received very good service from the staff at Quinta Real during out recent stay, especially Nahomy at the Front Desk, who was very helpful with addressing all our needs. The food was very good, especially breakfast and the dining room views are a 5/5. This hotel does have a lot of stairs, that blend with property and add to the charm and beauty of this location. The hotel shuttle was never more than just a few minutes wait from either the top the resort to Beach Club, or back up from the bottom. The walk out pool room was amazing, the pool was always crystal clear and the perfect temperature. The view of the bay and jungle area from it was fantastic for bird watching, especially just before sunset for the parrots. The hotel is however showing a little of its age, therefore I can't provide a 5/5 overall rating. The food prices and quality are relatively on par with Marriot or Delta, or Fairmont in Canadian dollars. My stay rated a solid 4/5 stars on my hard to impress scale, and I will be back to stay at this hidden gem again soon, I hope!

Charming hotel for its design and architecture. The services and quality of restaurants and bars are high level. Very relaxing environment. I loved the personalized breakfast service. The special dinner with pairing was delicious. Definitely, the experience of relaxation and excellent service and quality of food makes staying at Quinta Real Huatulco unique. Highly recommended.

We loved the hotel. It was clean, customer service was awesome, and overall it was safe. We enjoyed our time here the views from the hotels are beautiful such a great experience and very much relaxing.
