Perched on the promenade facing the old city center, the view from Adriana, Hvar Spa Hotel, Croatia's first member of The Leading Small Hotels of the World, combines the Cathedral, the Arsenal, the Venetian piazza, and the bay all in one sweep of the eyes. Completely renovated as a stylish luxury hotel and spa, Adriana's amenities are as diverse as its view, making it a perfect place to relax, renew, and rejoice. The luxurious Sensori Spa offers therapeutic and esthetic treatments, massage, and a wide range of programs. The rooftop terrace features a heated, indoor/outdoor seawater pool and a spectacular sky bar and lounge area. At the Adriana, it is easy to see why Conde Nast Traveler rated Hvar as one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world.

While Gabriel who picked us up was warm and welcoming, the front desk service—especially from Marina—was shockingly poor and dismissive. We had booked a superior sea-facing room months in advance for our anniversary, only to be given a corner room on the 3rd floor with a tiny balcony and a direct view of another building. The so-called “sea view” was a sliver visible only if you leaned out. This was not what was advertised or paid for. When we raised our concerns, instead of correcting the issue, we were moved to a lower floor and given a room with twin beds—a clear downgrade. Marina made it clear that room allocation was entirely at their discretion and insisted that the sliver of ocean view qualified as “sea-facing.” Her attitude throughout was unhelpful, dismissive, and condescending. This experience was unacceptable, especially for a trip meant to celebrate a special occasion. We would not recommend staying here based on this level of service and disregard for guest satisfaction. We were misinformed on the air conditioning. It is at the hotels discretion so in addition to being downgraded we also had a restless hot night.

We loved the hotel. The room was very spacious and the location couldn’t be better. The service is very friendly and helpful. The food at the hotel’s restaurant was the best of our one month trip through Europe. Our waiter Vlad made us feel very welcomed and appreciated every evening. The only thing that needs some improvement is the gym. It lacks equipment for an hotel this good. The pool is excellent. Be sure to book a room with a view of the sea and the town. It’s definitely worth it. We will come back every time we go to Hvar.

The hotel location and view is nothing short of fantastic. The staff equally so. Extremely friendly and helpful especially Maria the front desk manager. Always big smiles and so warm with every conversation in the morning and any other time we came and went from the hotel. It was our 60th birthday and we were treated like royalty and with big hugs as we departed to our next destination. Above and beyond. Can't wait to come back! Thank you for a marvelous experience.

Loved our girls' weekend stay here. You are walking distance from the ferry (the hotel will pick you up there in a golf cart so you don't have to worry about getting your luggage to the hotel) and water taxis to easily get around to the islands and also walking distance to the path to the fortress. Being right in the town is super convenient for restaurants, and there is a place to swim in the ocean a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The spa was excellent with a glass-windowed sauna overlooking the water. Delicious breakfast with a great range of items, including sparkling wine. Staff also super friendly and helpful.

This is a great hotel for a stay in Hvar. They get off to a great start as they meet the arriving ferries and have a golf cart that will take your bags to the hotel. Even though it's only a 5-7 minute walk to the hotel, it's nice not to have to lug your bag. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The location, right on the port, is hard to beat with great views and very convenient to anything you'd want to do in Hvar town. The rooms are spacious and modern and have great views of the port. In addition, they have a great rooftop bar with even better views. I was here in late October, so toward the end of shoulder season, so it was pretty reasonable and I was able to get a reservation only a couple weeks out. I believe if you are here in prime tourist season in the summer, it would be more expensive and you would need to make a reservation further out, but I think all the great service and perks will be there no matter when you stay. Would absolutely recommend.
