About the Hotel

Maslina Resort fuses classic Mediterranean styles with contemporary French touches, respecting the nature already in place as the foundation of the design philosophy. To cultivate the same feeling the designers had upon first visiting Maslinica Bay, native and local species are used to maintain the landscape language already in place, where wild Mediterranean vegetation thrives thanks to thick Aleppo pines, mature olive trees, and fragrant herb bushes. The landscape is linked with the colors of the materials, which are all natural and locally-sourced.

Reviews for Maslina Resort

A touch of family luxury

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Beautiful resort, very family friendly even with a play room for younger children, and a beach area with sand (quite a rarity in Croatia). We had a tour of the amazing spa facilities but didn’t actually use them. Two of our party did the yoga class one morning which they thoroughly enjoyed. The food was excellent and the staff extremely helpful, a real touch of luxury.

Short answer - I highly recommend Maslina! In advance of arrival, I corresponded with Maslina with several questions, including requesting a car transfer from/to the ferry terminal. The car (both ways) was on time and seamless (for Euro 55 each way). The drive was shorter than expected - about 20 minutes. Upon arrival, we were given a lovely cold tea welcome drink and seated by the bar. Looking around - wow, wow in every direction, exhale. Maslina is stunning and the views are incredible at every turn. After relaxing for a short bit, we were given a thorough tour of the property and shown to our home for the next 3 nights, a spacious pool suite on the first floor of the main building. Over the course of the next few days, we enjoyed the poolside breakfasts, the spa (complimentary sauna, steam, jet pools, with lots of indoor and outdoor seating areas to relax), the sand beach with large comfortable sun beds, the bicycles, and the beach bar (note drinks are Euro 24). The September waters were warm, clear and not crowded. Each night we took advantage of the complimentary car service into Stari Grad for dinner. (Highly recommend Blue Doors and Antica!) It is possible to walk into the old town but the car was very convenient. In Stari Grad, there are several lovely restaurants, shops and art galleries to explore. On the bicycles, we explored a bit further to the far side of the bay and into the local vineyards. The wooden bicycles were a hit (people had so many questions!) but the wooden seat is not designed for long rides or comfort on the behind :-) A few things to be aware of: Take towels from the pool before you go to the beach. It took about 30 minutes for towels to be delivered. Try for a sun bed at the end of a row. There is “quiet rule” at the beach. There are no Ubers available, even if your App indicates availability. Taxis are very expensive. It cost Euro 30 each way to do a wine tasting 4-5 miles from the hotel. It’s best to sit directly with the Concierge. We asked to visit a wine tasting not within the Maslina experiences. We were told that they would call upon opening at 3pm, which took 3 calls and talking to 3 different staff members to get organized. There is large supermarket within walking distance, if you have forgotten anything or want to pick up snacks, wine, etc. The experiences are very expensive. Euro 200-240 for wine tasting. Over Euro 1,000 for a boat (which may be a good price for a group).

What an incredible place!!

When we arrived to check-in at Maslina, we were greeted by the lovely Maslina staff, along with Batu - the Guest Relations Manager. The check-in process was quick and easy, and it was followed by a tour of the property. We stayed 5 night/6 days and everyday was better than the day prior. The facilities are immaculate and very accommodating, they offer experiences you can book right out of the lobby, and the pool and beaches are beautiful. The location of Maslina is noteworthy as well - it’s 25 minutes from Hvar and 3 minutes from Stari Grad. Stari Grad is under rated! Batu made our trip. He gave us great recommendations and service throughout our stay. He went above and beyond! The experiences team also assisted us in booking a great boat trip which was worth every penny. All of this to say, we can’t recommend Maslina enough!

Fabulous trip!

I’ll make it easy for you if considering Maslina - don’t even think about it, just book it! We had a fabulous experience at Maslina and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From relaxing on the crystal clear beaches, to spending time at the pool, to enjoying dinner in the nearby town of Stari Grad, there isn’t a thing we would’ve changed about our stay. The staff was extremely attentive and accommodating. It was a luxurious experience. A special shout-out to Batu. A true experience-maker, who remembers small details about his guests to make them feel special. He went above and beyond in helping to make our stay perfect, such as helping us to extend our trip an extra night, and giving recommendations for Stari Grad, and even for the rest of our Croatia travels. The easiest 5/5 I’ve ever given.

Amazing Lux Croatia Resort

Beautiful resort with fantastic service. After spending a couple days in bustling Hvar Town we headed over to Stari Grad to chill out at this beachside resort. From a warm welcome on checkin, we knew we were going to have a great experience. Got a welcome drink and took advantage of facilities while we waited for room to be ready. Extras we loved at this resort -Welcome amenity -Free minibar (replacements are not free) -Using the spa facilities to chill out and detox -Rode the electric bikes into town. A beautiful little ride along a picturesque beach path -Morning yoga at the beach tent Had dinner at the resort and thought food was exceptional. Eating outside overlooking the infinity pool and sea was romantic. Decent amount of families and kids but they were all well behaved. Rooms were well thought out and appointed. We had a room with pool on the balcony. Took the Ferry from Stari Grad (2 min drive) the next afternoon to continue on our adventure. HIGHLY recommend adding this to your stop or destination list. It is a little isolated so you may be bored after a few days if looking for an active vacation and not relaxation. LBest hotel we stayed at in Croatia.
