Soak up the jungle chorus while you float in the pool, stroll gardens bejewelled with orchids and sip caipirinhas as the sun goes down. Pros: Location Having the park solely for hotel guests in the morning & evening - the reason we chose this hotel over Melia The hotel is beautiful and immaculate inside & out The whole hotel smells amazing (this may sound odd but worth a mention!) Staff are fabulous, everyone was beyond helpful The staff work super hard, especially those in the restaurants (possibly they have to work too hard as they were rushed off their feet on a few occasions Transfers from airport & over the border was seamless Housekeeping keep the rooms spotless - great turndown service too Concierge very responsive via WhatsApp The pool staff do a great job keeping everyone happy Online reservations team were responsive Good buffet breakfast - plenty of variety The evening buffet was well priced and had plenty of variety Cons: It get super busy around the pool and sometimes it was hard to get a sunbed We found our room, a junior suite at the front of the hotel noisy - tours coming and going, there was a birthday party directly below our window on the first evening & our neighbours for two of the three nights were really noisy. I’d personally rather have a room at the back of the hotel where it would be quieter There’s helicopter trip pretty much most of the day from 9 - 5 and this does spoil the peace and quiet somewhat and they fly directly over the hotel Check that the park isn’t changing it’s opening hours, I had paid for a First Light Experience expected to be able to enjoy the park with only the other hotel guests however the opening hours changed for the day and it opened at 6am, it was still an enjoyable experience but had I been told I would have moved this to another day. The guide was excellent though If you go on the Moon Walk take a plastic poncho or rain coat, sounds obvious but I was drenched when I returned. My other guide provided a plastic poncho to wear which I recycled to another person in the park Usually with this many cons I’d rate the hotel lower however its so beautiful here and the staff are so helpful lower than 4 stars seemed unfair

Belmond Hotel de las Cataracts What an incredible stay. The location is awesome with close up views of the falls since the property is in the park and borders the rushing water and the clouds of billowing mist. The hotel is beautiful. We had a lovely room and a comfortable night’s sleep. The food was delicious as well. We especially want to thank the General Manager who help us in so many ways with her hands on management approach. The kind considerations and amenities given to us was beyond our expectations. The staff expedited transportation and assisted in various touristic options around the falls. We highly recommend this hotel as the best choice to truly appreciate the natural wonder of Iguazu Falls. Thank you very much to everyone at the Belmond.

From arrival to departure, the staff makes this already wonderful hotel exemplary. All aspects of my stay was taken cared of. We were in all the 3 dining places, spa and participated in the First Light, boating, Frontier and Y restaurant, all of which were excellent. Shout out to Aline (who welcomed us), Tai (our lady server at the bar), Samuel (at Y) and Francisco (who drove us to the airport). Of course, the falls itself don’t need introduction. This hotel’s location and private access makes the stay extra special.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel. It is an impressive building and provides comfortable facilities and good customer service. We had one or two issues during our stay that were dealt with promptly. The pool area is great for relaxing and the main dining room provides a buffet breakfast (very good) and dinner, with an al a carte option which we chose and was fine although the room is big and rather noisy when busy.

Excelent in every detail. Great location, view of the falls, service staff, all impeccable. Have to return some day.

We stayed at Hotel Cataratas at the end of our 17 days in Brazil. A perfect ending. Our room was charming and comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel neglected to make arrangements for our transport from the airport (which was included in our LL package), but they made up for the error many times over during our stay, including a complementary guide when we visited the Iguassu Falls on the Argentina side. The location of the hotel also provides access to the viewing trails for the falls during hours when the park is closed to other tourist. A real bonus that is not available to those staying in the hotel in the Argentinian park. Next time I stay at Hotel Cataratas I'll coordinate my trip with a full moon!
