Sanctum Inle Resort caters to a different sort of travel – the kind of travel that emphasizes reflection, a search for meaning, and authentic interactions with a culture that until recently remained hidden from tourism. The quiet corridors of this brand new resort were built in the image of a monastery, with graceful arches and cloisters that offer a lakeside retreat for intrepid travelers. Rooms have a minimalistic design aesthetic, yet are sumptuously comfortable. There’s no asceticism here – you’ll want to end the day with a Cuban cigar and a Myanmar-made glass of wine in The Cloister Bar.

Stayed in this hotel in December 2017. What a beautiful place this was! Clean, high quality, peaceful yet so close to the action spots. We really enjoyed the food, and impeccable service. I only did not realize that this area is a bit colder than the rest of Myanmar and I wish I had some warmer clothes packed. It was almost surreal that this place exists (with its unique touch of luxury) in this area. I know that at the time this was by a mile the nicest hotel in the area. Everyone in this hotel was super kind and welcoming

Sanctum Inle Resort was the most memorable hotel from our trip around Myanmar and one of the more memorable ones from our travels around 40+ countries. We arrived by boat and enjoyed this entrance to the hotel. You approach the hotel through floating gardens to reveal the complex of cloisters with Mediterranean-style tiled roofs and manicured grounds. Upon arrival, the staff greeted us at the boat and took us to a private room off the lobby where we were checked in by the general manager, Baptiste Cabarry. We were then taken by golf cart to our room as the grounds are rather large. Our room was large with plenty of space, large bathroom and balcony overlooking the grounds. It was quite comfortable and quiet. In the evening the staff would turndown the room. The hotel has loaner bicycles with limited gearing. We used them to check out the nearby village on our first afternoon. The hotel is fairly isolated and the setting is great so we had dinner in the hotel, which served good food. We also enjoyed watching the setting sun from the hotel. The pool was an excellent place to spend the afternoon though it was a little cold. Overall, I really enjoyed the hotel’s grounds and setting, which were very peaceful and relaxing. The next day we had a sunrise private Inle Lake boat tour, which we arranged in town. The tour was nice; however, you get dropped off at various places that after a little while get a little boring if you have visited a lot of places around Asia. We would have preferred to have spent some of this time at the hotel. It would be worthwhile researching what you would like to see on Inle Lake to better utilize your time. On the boat tour we did not see the classic fisherman with cone shaped nets that are commonly shown in pictures. The hotel staff told us that fisherman no longer use these types of nets. The receptionist arranged for us to have a fisherman with cone net meet me near the hotel at sunset for pictures. We were really happy with their assistance, since this one of the things were looking forward to when visiting Inle Lake. Throughout our stay the staff was very helpful making sure everything was arranged for our day. They arranged our taxi to the airport and had a golf cart ready to take us to checkout. Overall, I would stay at Sanctum Inle Resort and would likely not think about staying anywhere else.

Situated by the lake with a beautiful view and sunset. We had a nice and confortable villa with a view on the lake. Nice swimming pool to relax after your day visit. The restaurant and food are average.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in early March 2020. The Suite is very spacious and very comfortable. The Resort Grounds with the lake are scenic, serene and tranquil. The swimming pool is nice and I enjoyed swimming laps. The food in the restaurant for dinners and "a la carte" breakfast was excellent. Service by all the staff was courteous and professional.

The hotel is stunning. The hotel is right on the lake, which makes it magical. I recommend arriving at the hotel via boat. The sunset from the terrace was lovely. The hotel is a five-star+ property. I was concerned since the price is very reasonable. Don't let that be a deterrent. The hotel is fantastic. The hotel has every thoughtful touch. The room was large and had every amenity. The spa was terrific and priced reasonably. The food was delicious and again, reasonable, although more expensive than the local restaurants as you would expect. Thank you for a fantastic stay.
