My husband and I stayed at Mezzatorre for 2 nights during our Amalfi Coast trip. The hotel and view are beautiful. We especially enjoyed sitting at the beach, and using the thermal pools in their spa. The rooms are small but beautiful with many nice touches. There was a great selection at breakfast with a large buffet as well as a menu to order from. The service was very good and everyone was very friendly. This hotel is more of a resort that is isolated on the west side of the island. If you are doing a lot of touring of the island, it becomes difficult to leave the hotel. Cabs are very expensive and it's a bit of a walk to get out to the bus stop. Even to go to dinner in one of the nearby towns, cabs got very pricey. This is a good place to stay if you stay for several days and want to spend some time lounging by the beach or pool. We did have an issue the morning we left though. We had an early ferry to Sorrento with a stop in Capri and the seas looked rough that morning. When we checked out, we asked the gentleman at the front desk if the ferries were running since they do tend to be cancelled. He was very confident that the seas were not rough and that the ferries were running. We then took a cab to the ferry dock to find out that our ferry was in fact cancelled. All ferries for the day were cancelled to Capri and our only option was to take a ferry to Naples and then take a train or another ferry to Sorrento (if running). After scrambling last minute, we were able to get to Sorrento, however, we feel that the hotel should have called the ferry to make sure the ferries were running before we left the hotel. Other hotels we stayed at during our trip had this service. We sent an email to the hotel after suggesting that this would have been helpful and they replied that they did call and ferries were running. This doesn't make sense though because nothing was mentioned to us when we expressed our concern to the front desk and were just told that the seas were not that rough, with no mention of them calling to confirm. Also, the woman at the counter at the ferry dock said the ferries were cancelled earlier that morning. Overall, this is a beautiful hotel and we enjoyed our stay.

Just wow. The hotel is so well run. From the moment we checked in Salvatore and Alicia confirmed all of our activities, including ones I had separately booked, and even lined up our taxis needed during the stay. Salvatore, F and B manager, is warm, welcoming and totally onsite to make sure all of your dining experiences are perfect. The staff at the pool are terrific. Lia at the spa gave my husband a great massage. The thermal spa area is beautiful and so relaxing and very unique. The resort is built on a hill so rooms are on different levels and at the end of the night the front desk always had someone on hand to give you a lift back to your room. We really enjoyed our Mt Epomeo hike with Emanuele, with their recommended travel company, Fouraday, as well as the amazing lunch provided at a mountain home. Hotel is located in walking distance to Mortella Gardens - a very special place to visit. Our room and outdoor patio were beautiful, and spacious with a view of the sea. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the area.

This place is simply world-class. I can't think of another hotel experience where I've had absolutely zero to say by way of improvement. The location, food, and facilities are, of course, excellent. It's the people and the service that set Mezzatorre apart from the rest. It's like taking a time machine to what we imagine travel was like for Cary Grant or Audrey Hepburn. Every staff member was so welcoming, attentive, and gracious, making for an exceptional anniversary visit. Recommend 1,000%.

Mezzatorre was one of the best hotels Ive ever stayed in. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning and very close to the nicest part of Ischia, the town of Lacco Ameno. The people at the hotel from the Concierge, to the servers, to the people in the spa were so so so kind and responsive. Just amazing service, and the food was the best we had during our trip to Italy. This place is so special. I cant wait to go back again.

5 years ago I stayed at the Mezzatorre Resort & Spa. I booked it again for my recent trip. If I return to a property I have vacationed, it is truly 5 star. First of all, I will start with the property itself. It's rustic beauty and location are unsurpassed. The views are breathtaking. The spa has 5 star amenities. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food is excellent. Service in the restaurants is very attentive. Check-in is a breeze. Housekeeping caters to your needs immediately. This hotel lives up to its 5 star rating. We will return again next year.
