Classic Suite in Istanbul

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I initially came across this hotel by chance while visiting the Soho House Spa, but I ended up staying in one of their suites. As someone with a deep appreciation for modern history, I was fascinated to learn that this storied hotel has ties to Atatürk Kemal, the founding father of the nation. The suite was exceptionally spacious, and I invited friends over for tea, where we were all captivated by the stunning views of the Old City. The breakfast was truly outstanding, and the hamam experience was delightful. While the hotel carries a slightly aged charm, when viewed through the lens of its classic elegance, it holds a unique appeal that adds to its character. Now I am watching a netflix show, Pera Palace Hotel!!

Must-Stay at Least Once!

My go-to hotel in Istanbul. The history, the vibe, and the location are hard to top. Very clean, comfortable beds, great breakfast. Love the bar and the pastry shop. The lower floors facing Pera are lacking the view (my room was facing a dilapidated building), so go for the Golden Horn, if you can. The hotel itself is definitely worth the splurge!

Great historic hotel

Great historic hotel. After watching the Netflex show The Pera Palace Hotel my wife and I decided to stay here. This is a great 5 star hotel and with lots of history. This is one of the most famous hotels in Turkey. Great rooms, friendly staff. I will stay here again. Not cheap but worth a visit.

Fantastic Hotel, beautiful rooms, wonderful staff, really good breakfast.

An amazing Hotel with tons of history and the second oldest electric lift in Europe (second to the Eiffel Tower). The staff were all fantastic, really helpful with dinner suggestions and reservations as well as local info. Just be aware that the walk down to Tophne Tram stop is a very steep hill which means you have to climb back up at the end of the day (unless you get a taxi). The Pool is a decent length with a nice little jacuzzi attached. We were lucky to be upgraded to a suite with great views over The Golden Horn. A lovely thing to do is have a drink in the bar area, it's not cheap but we felt this was a once in a lifetime trip.

Travel back in time

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

It was an amazing experience from the first step into this historic hotel! We were welcomed at check-in with traditional Turkish hospitality (apple tea and hot hand towels). We were escorted to the first electric elevator in Turkey(the second one in Europe), and as part of our welcome, we could take this lift! The hotel is full of history, including room 101 where Ataturk stayed - it's now a museum! Other historical persons stayed there, like Agatha Cristie who allegedly wrote part of her Murder on the Orient Express. And she has her room, you can book if you are lucky (411). You can spend the whole day in the hotel, especially if you are a fan of travelling back in time. Among everything else, I need to mention that the duvets in our room were so fluffy and comfortable :-)
